If he starts against man utd in that position- sorry, but I don't think its acceptable that the club is playing emergency CBs for the first game of the season, poor poor planning.

Will be interesting to see and good that the club is exploring options, better to see what you have got than buying players that don't give us anything special. Personally I thought we might have tried Jan in that role but I suspect he just wants to play CB
I hope Veljkovic is given a chance to play in that role.

Dier actually started his career at Sporting as a cm and was used often as a dm there.

Seems like a good idea to me. It's what friendlies are for - experimenting and fitness.
People were saying Jan or Toby before signed could be played CDM, yet when Dier is likely to be tried there people seem disappointed, even though he started his career there , and imo is our most suited CB to cover there. He quick, a good tackler, good in the air, and can pass a ball..... he will do well there short term imo, maybe even long term...who knows.
