Probably the best cheap option who's willing to be second choice. Pope would never agree to be second choice with the world cup in 6 months. Sounds like Johnstone changed his mind when he got an offer to be first choice elsewhere and as he's younger than Forster he might have an eye on the world cup too.

Doubt we'd have a chance of signing him, unless it was with a view to loan him out for a season of regular football & him knowing he would then come in to replace Lloris in the next season or 2.

Got a very slap-able face though.

Didn't realise until watching MOTD the other night. Looks like Max Verstappen with an eating disorder.
I've mentioned it a few times and must be the only one that sees it, be he looks like a sex-change Anne Hathaway to me

Let's get this right and not rewrite history, Forster was superb at Celtic - in both stints. So much so that Celtic wanted to re-sign him last summer. He played a blinder in a Europa League game against Lazio two season's ago denying - if memory serves - Milinkovic-Savic with an absolute wonder save in the last minute with Celtic leading 2-1.

As an aside, he thought he was joining Spurs when he left Celtic first time around for Southampton. Was really keen to sign for us and we changed our minds late on and he ended up going there instead.

This is astute business. Good to get these kind of squad building signings done early.

Love that he was MOTM in the 1-0 win over Arsenal. Hope the media team use those highlights liberally when he's announced.

I wouldn’t say I’m excited but this is a very good signing. One thing both Lloris and our previous keepers have struggled with is dominating the box when facing corners and crosses. Forster is an absolute giant at 6ft 7, he’s all very well built. He’s a dominating force in the penalty area. For a person of his size he’s pretty agile and has made some absolutely fantastic saves throughout his career. For a number 2/competition for Lloris I would very happy with this signing.

I’m not particularly fussed to miss out on Johnstone, he’s a decent enough keeper but he’s most definitely not a long term Lloris replacement and there’s not a lot of difference between him and Forster.
