So what as long as he's out the door for the season. He's not in the plans so let the club worry about the finances. He could be worth more after a year on loan than he is now anyway. I wonder if there is more to follow on this like maybe they take Ndombele too. Who knows maybe we'll get a surprise signing from them like a young prospect.

He clearly only want Villarreal so they are just playing their hand and hoping we buckle. It helps that Fiorentina are willing to pay the money as we can just wait it out until Lo Celso has no choice but to accept their offer.

Fuck off Villareal. How broke are these guys. Lo Celso is a 30m euro asset.

nope. He's a player with 1 goal and 3 assists in 55 premier league appearances playing for one of the best teams in the league. Just painfully average and it was a huge huge mistake to ever go near him.

Loan with obligation
Can someone explain to me the difference between a loan with an obligation to buy and a sale?
Sale is a straight sale which can be put through the books straight away. Loan with obligation is either a delayed sale, or could be dependent on factors to make it a sale.
Theres no guarantee that the obligation because active in some cases

thats my take on it anyway

which semi-final was that? The home leg?

I like him, I think he's way better than average, but was always fkin injured- unless playing for his country.

He's only worth what the buying club is prepared to pay, to coin a phrase...

It's not that. The majority of clubs in europe are broke as fuck.

'Average midfielders' don't star as one of the best players for teams that reach champions league semi-finals or win Copa Americas.
Didn't Ndombele star in the Champions League for Lyon , not always a good indicator of how a player will perform in the Premier League.
Not all European clubs are broke, England is in Europe last time I looked at a map :), plenty of English clubs with money unfortunately none of them want Lo Celso or Ndombele

I didn’t call him an average midfielder?

The truth is he’s not cut out for the premier league, alas, the only options we have are to sell abroad.

Clubs abroad can’t put two cents together and as a result Gio Lo Celso is not worth very much money.

Maybe we’d be better off just loaning him with no option. Come January his stock could be a lot higher if Argentina do well at the WC (I have them as one of the favourites).

Levy might work something out with Villareal like he did with Ajax, getting a record fee for Stevie.
Villareal's record purchase is approx. £21 mil if Levy can get anything near that for Lo Celso he will have done well.

Christ, so difficult to shift our unwanted players...
That’s why it is so important to have the best possible people in charge of recruiting as mistakes are extremely costly. This guy and N’Dombele are going to have cost us a fortune for bugger all return. Money that could really have been used to push on. They have also been wasters in the squad during prime Kane and Son years.
