Anyway, Lo Celso...

Likely to start for Argentina (as is Foyth) against Davinson Sanchez’s Colombia tonight. Should be worth a watch.
Its on ESPN+ over here in the states which is quite annoying. They bought up the rights for all these soccer tournaments and then make you pay to watch them on a seperate platform meanwhile they air fucking bowling and shit like that on some of their channels.

I actually have found it to be worth it. It's $5.29 after taxes/month. I tend to watch at least 4-5 matches a week and for me, that amount of content is worth the price. I do agree, though. I feel like with all the pay-to-watch sports platforms now (ESPN+, NBC Sports Gold, etc.) it's getting more expensive to watch what used to be generally free.

Real Betis are likely to accept a deal worth in the region of £70m for Tottenham target Giovani Lo Celso, according to Sky sources.

Spurs remain interested in the Argentina midfielder but the clubs are apart in their valuation, in part due to the fact the player has an £88m release clause.

Sky Sports News reported last week that Lo Celso wants to move to the Premier League this summer and is keen to work with compatriot Mauricio Pochettino in North London.

One source has told Sky Sports News the clubs remain in talks, with Spurs still hopeful of concluding a deal that would almost certainly smash their current transfer record of £38.4million for Davinson Sanchez.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are also in talks with Lyon over a deal for France midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

Pochettino is understood to have been given the chance to spend a significant chunk of Spurs' Champions League revenue early in this transfer window.

The club will then look to accrue further funds through player sales and reinvest in improving the squad ahead of next season.

There are expected to be changes in a number of positions including at both full-back positions, with Spurs targeting Ryan Sessegnon on the left and Hiroki Sakai on the right.

I find it weird that we would spend more on Lo Celso than Ndombele. From what I can see, Ndombele is a.) Younger, b.) Comes from a more financially stable club, c.) Under contract until 2023 and Lo Celso is 2021.

I’m not sure there’s much truth in any of the figures bandied about.

What do you think is the significance of him wearing our top? Or is there not one & he's just charged up with no idea what he's doing?
It was actually to show his support for the CL Final. I just bunged it in here as the conversation was revolving around Argentinians.

I see your point. Not really much chance of resale at that age.

Maybe it's from our perspective rather than theirs. Personally if I had to choose one it would be Lo Celso.

Sky post an update "Betis want £70m"......we have know that for weeks
Rumours in academic circles gathered momentum this week regarding the prospect that Russell Group Universities- a catch-all phrase for elite institutions- are seriously considering providing a social science degree in Bellend Studies. First module of study for those enrolled on the course is 101: Sky Sports Bellendry, with specific references to Jim White and Paul Merson

A few have mentioned this before. Was hoping that this was going to be wrapped up before the Copa starts and suprised it has not turned out that way. The optimist in me says behind the scenes, the fee and player terms have been somewhat agreed, regardless of how he performs at the Copa.

Otherwise, if we had thought we can get him lower than his release clause pre-Copa, what makes us think we can get Betis to agree any lower if he has a good Copa.

On a related note, when was the last time that we had tried to a sign a player going into a major tournament? At the top of my head, we signed Modric before Euro 2012.

With respect, 18 years in which we’ve built a new, world-class, state-of-the-art stadium; world-class training facilities; and have gone from a slumbering, misfiring former giant that struggled to finish mid-table, (at one point was flirting with relegation as late as May) to a club that was being talked about as potential champions this season and which has qualified for the CL four seasons in a row?

If that’s mismanagement by ENIC, all hail mismanagement!
Not sure I called it mismanagement!? I’ve nothing but praise for ENIC. There strategy has got us where we are, if anything I’d rather we didn’t break the framework that got us here. Bizzare response
