Guy is very top quality. I can’t stress this enough. He can open teams up with his ability, and that bit of magic you need. He just needs to have his wand with this lot.

Completely agree with this. Don't judge him off of his two very limited cameos, once he is integrated properly he will start to show the quality he has in him.

I have followed his development for a few seasons already (since he was at PSG) and I can tell you all we have signed an exceptional prospect, he could well replace Eriksen and offer more to the team in the coming months. Even if Eriksen is to stay, together these two could lift the team and get us playing exciting football once again. The skillset is there, whether or not we use it tactically is a different topic for a different thread.

Patience is necessary.

There is no way that Lo Celso could have done much today given his positional duty was to play reasonably central against a bank of defenders for a team he barely knows. Today’s game was crying out for a wide forward, able to beat his man and wreak havoc in the Newcastle area
Been saying for years we need a wide forward who can beat people with skill not just pace for these teams that just come and sit back

Fuck waiting to integrate him, we really need a full 90 out of him now.
With the current reluctance to play Eriksen, the quicker we can get Lo Ceslo and Ndombele playing together, the better.
It's a bit of a shit show though, that we're having to rely on two new players to hope for some kind of creative spark.

It cant just be the Eriksen situation that's creating this current state of affairs, there's got to be more to it.

The shit show you describe is the fallout from spending nothing for 18 months, having players contracts run down and then relying on revolution rather than evolution. It will take time for the dust to settle but fans don't have the patience required. It took Liverpool a few years to turn things around but people prefer the rhetoric that it was just a matter of signing VVD and Allison.

Maybe it is but the current playing style isn't down to just that. We seem to lack any form of cutting edge and I think there's more to it than just an "unsettled squad".
I'm sure that Poch will find a solution but this isn't the start to the season I was hoping for, it's more like a continuation of the back end of last season, which wasnt good.

Someone has to be prepared to sign him first!
ok but then if no-one is prepared to sign him then Poch must be not playing him because of the comments he made and because he wont sign a new contract but then his sulking behind the scenes doesn't make any sense nor does selling his house.
Hopefully PSG, Juve or either Madrid put a last minute bid in for him.

We should not be conceding 30 shots against anyone regardless of the of the opposition, how do people not understand this? I fully get that city are an extraordinary side and were expected to have most of the possession and more attempts on goal but they had TEN TIMES the number of shots we did and that is not in anyway acceptable if we want to push on further and challenge for top spot.

No matter how much people sugar coat it our performance last week was piss poor and we should be playing better than what we did.
How many were genuine goal scoring opportunities though? Not many.

More concerning is our inability to break down teams entrenched in their own half. 2 shots on target against Newcastle when they barely touched the ball is awful.

IMO, it's likely Eriksen will be off, either now or in the near future. He's not a player we can replace like for like, and we've been far too reliant on his creativity so that when he's not on it, the whole team suffers. I think Ndombele and Lo Celso have been brought in to give us creativity from other areas but it will take time for them to get up to speed. Poch seems pretty pissed off with the whole Eriksen saga (who isn't?) so everything is up in the air at the moment, but the time to judge is when it all settles back down and we find out what we've actually got. As I said before though, this is the fallout from spending zilch for 18 months while key contracts were ticking by.

I'm surprised that there hasn't been a suggestion of a loan until the end of the season when he becomes a free agent. We may not get a fee but surely his wages could be paid for by the other club and he won't be hanging around the club. Clearly there are a lot of variables that could immediately nix that but it's a thought.

I'm no expert, but the logic of how we reintegrate players seems pretty random to me. Kane gets straight back into the team after being rushed back from injury, but Lo Celso is apparently not deemed fit enough to start after 3 weeks of training with the club.

We're gagging for a player who can put his foot on the ball, break the lines and provide us with a bit of creative impetus. Put him in Poch!

And if it's because he's not considered tactically up to speed, our tactics have been so shit recently that maybe that's not such a bad thing.

Is Lo Celso in the Argentina squad for upcoming friendlies ? Argentina have a game on Weds 11th against Mexico but not sure where the game is being played presume S America. Then we have Palace on the Saturday so he is unlikely to start that game , he's not starting tomorrow for sure, be half way through the season before he starts a game.

It's very frustrating, especially when we're lacking so much of what he can bring.

Right or Wrong it's Poch.

If we signed James I'd doubt he would have started our first 3 games of the season.

They have selected their squad and Lo Celso is in it.

I spoke to a fellow spurs fan few days back and he asked me what I thought of GLC.
He said he thought he looked a bit leggy. I said well I havent seen him play a whole game yet let alone get settled so I'll reserve judgement for a while yet.
Jesus.
