I'm just glad he didn't get too cliquey with Romero before he left. Glad the other lads made him welcome (I think he named Dier as one of the main guys on that front).

Good deal for both parties. And hopefully the good will Paratici has fostered will help us sign Torres (if Bastoni doesn’t happen of course) or Danjuma next summer. Villarreal always seem to have an intriguing player or two.

Excellent news. One down, one to go. I'd take that deal for Ndombele in a heartbeat.
Lo Celso did very well on his loan and wasn't on a particularly high salary so getting interest in him was relatively easy. The biggest problem was how much the buying club could afford to spend.

Ndombele is completely different. Reportedly on around £200k a week. From the little I've read he started off well on his loan then went back to lazy performances, I could be wrong on this. No transfer fee, just getting him off the books will be a good deal for us.

So we're signing a 33 year old wingback with high wages and selling a player entering his prime years with 3 years left on his contract for half of what we paid. If there was any doubt that were backing Conte, it surely will be gone now :)

Would have loved to see him play for us under a manager who tactically suited his style of football. Clearly didn’t work in Jose or Nunos systems. Wish him all the best.

Getting rid of a player the manager didn't want and buying one he does is not backing the manager?

If you're being serious, that might be the weirdest take I've read in a long time. On SC, that's impressive.

I think I haven't written that clearly enough - English is not my first language! I tried making a joke about how it is very unlike us to act like this in the transfer market - so all the speculation about us not backing Conte must surely be put to the grave now.

Don't apologise for your English. English is my first language and I misread it.

I somehow read it as you thinking we were being cheap. I just completely misread the tone, my bad.

Good move for all concerned really. Shame it didn't work out for him, there is a player in there but just doesn't suit the Premier League.
