I still think the club is (rightly) looking at the long game here. I mentioned yesterday, but we do have to replace Forster at some point. We will probably target a HG option then.

Seems driven, some good stories, and mentions how he believes you should always follow and execute a coaches plan. Easy to root for the guy - hope he acclimates well!

No, he said to replace forster. As in get a HG backup when forster moves

One of the major complaints about Levy is that he drags negotiations out to their absolute limit to extract as much "value" as possible. This doesn't appear to be the case here and is a very welcome change.

Once you think you can't negotiate to a mutually agreeable outcome, you walk away and go to Plan B.

I think this is a really positive step in the right direction and hope it's now the template.

To be honest, it's a more refreshing transfer strategy than dragging out deals all summer for one player.

No - I should have clarified better. Some suggested that they are surprised the priority option isn't HG. My thinking is that they can just replace Forster with another HG option in a years time. It's almost a perfect scenario where they can judge the level of investment/opportunities based on year one of Vicario.

You hope Vicario can settle quickly and use this year to get acclimated to PL. But say he doesn't, maybe you can persuade Raya on a free, or someone becomes available like Bazunu, Henderson etc (for example sake). If he does settle in, you can replace Forster with a more established number 2. Still a very flexible position IMO

My colleague is Italian and a huge Inter fan. He said Vicario is very highly rated and most inter fans were happy to sell Onana if he was the replacement. Hopefully we get a good deal for once.

Getting a good 'keeper and also possibly forcing the price Man United will have to pay to get Onana seems like a win-win situation to me!

He's recently made the Italian squad I doubt he has any intention of becoming a back up for us.

While we may be going for a cheaper option, it seems that there is a coherent strategy in place this time. Vicario according to the data is a similar profile to Raya.
