I have to admit I'm nervous about this one but really hope it works out. Seems like a good character.

Anyway, this could be our most important signing of them all. A solid keeper with a decent passing range who doesn't shit the bed when anyone approaches could be massive for us.

No pressure mate!

Can you even call yourself a Spurs supporter if you don't spend almost an hour looking at every single pass that our new goalkeeper made last season?

Some of his passing is actually quite bad 😅

I think that's because he's forced to punt it long where his strength is in short passes. I haven't sat through that whole hour but I've seen enough to realise that Empoli's style of play is totally different to ours so I don't think that video illuminates much.

After hearing Big Ange talk about his methods and desired playing style he seems quite uncompromising- I think we will have to be patient and experience a few costly errors with passes from the back before things click.

Just caught up with his club interview. Sounds like Ange wants him to take a lot of risks. Let’s hope not too many and it causes the boo boys to get on his back.

Love these type of signings, where it's the pinnacle of years and years of graft and tribulation for a really humble character. You just get the feeling that it means more, and that they'll give it everything and not phone anything in ever. You can just imagine him looking at that massive wall of seats, knowing that support is going to be literally behind him in a few weeks. He must be absolutely fucking buzzing.

Interesting to contrast this signing with the reported move Burnley are making for James Trafford (£15m plus £4m potential add-on, 20% sell-on and a buy back/matching offer clause).

I guess both signings are to some extent punts (and I suppose no signing is ever really a sure thing). Which one represents the biggest risk, best potential value, etc?

If Vicario works out (as I hope he will) then c.£17m is going to look like a bargain. Here’s hoping!

If Trafford reaches his potential, Burnley are likely to make a tidy profit. Big step up for the lad, having only played as high as League One so far, but best of luck to him.

Watched his behind the scenes and interview and I LOVE this guy already. Will be so interesting to follow how he does. Got a great mentality.

Listening to Lyall Thomas on Last Word on Spurs and he mentioned Vicario was Spurs top choice for GK despite reports that Raya was top choice and Spurs think he can become a top keeper. Very interesting as some felt he was the bargain choice
