must be about raya/vicario

The Guardian understands that Spurs passed on a player in a specific position this summer after getting the impression he was more driven by getting away from his old club. They signed someone else who Postecoglou could tell was desperate to join. He spoke to all of the new boys, approving the deals only when he got that feeling.

I thought similarly when Cucurella signed for Chelsea, like a player desperate to move to any 'top' club that would take him without much thought behind it.

This is the key element to signing a player. The fact that Ange said he spoke to Vicario to get an idea of his character. There should always be a discussion between signing and manager before we complete the deal. Raya hasn't handled the pressure of a big club well so far either. He doesn't like playing out from the back at all. Vicario made the odd mistake against Fulham yet not once looked phased by it. Still wanted to receive the ball and play out. Another keeper would get rattled by the first mistake and clear long the next time he got it.

never seen a keeper for us make such a impact, he has it all

was watching the game yesterday and the missus decided to watch too (I wasn’t happy about that!). When Palace attacked and had a couple of shots, she flinched and said “Ooh that was close, why didn’t you react? “. I said., he’s a very calming figure and I never panic. About 40mins in she said. I see what you mean he’s a very safe pair of hands. Even she can see it.

I believe Alisson is in a class of his own goalkeeper wise as he is unbelievably good at every aspect of his position.

Outside of him, Vicario is as good as any goalkeeper in the world. He's outstanding and I cannot think of a goalkeeper outside of Alisson that I'd rather have.

Yeah, I'd say Allison and Courtois. Vic coming up on the rails though.

Courtois did his ACL though no? Very hard for keepers to come back from that at the same level. Especially ones as big as Courtois.

Pre-injury I would agree though, definitely

We're slightly over performing our expected goals against from open play. 9 goals conceded, 2 penalties, so 2.45 goals difference. I would say this is largely down to Vicario being really fucking good.

It's weird, I don't necessarily get worried when a team comes at us or they have a shot like I used to.

Is this a serious post? (I have probably missed the joke)

Other than a slightly shaky first game against Brentford, and the very odd slight mishap playing out from the back (which will always happen to the very best keepers) has he even really made a proper mistake yet?

The guy is brilliant, been absolutely sublime and is a proper character to boot. Love him!
