bloody hell... our cheaper alternative to Raya is proving to be a gem.

he didn't deserve to be on the losing team tonight.

VdV and Madds have really made a difference, but Vic has shown heroics, plus... I think he enjoys it. dashing out to clear the ball right in the face of the striker.

My one criticism tonight was in the 27th minute where he scratched an itch on his elbow that I thought was unacceptable at that stage of the game. Luckily he redeemed himself.

Signing that class of keeper, with that character, at 27 years old, for that money, is totally bizarre.

What a player. What a guy. Has the potential to be a genuine club legend.

Imagine watching his highlights from this game and having been previously pissing the bed over Arsenal signing David Raya.

Couldn't be me.

No seriously, it wasn't me, but it was some others here.

Different gravy, this one.

such a weird time to do an 'I told you so'

I’ve had the pleasure of watching several greats. Jennings, Clemence, Lloris.

That was singularly the most astounding keeper performance I’ve ever seen, given the variety of his world class stops and Ironman mentality. Brave, athletic, electric fast, aggressive, calm, passionate. He was a 10th man when going down to 9 and covering for a high line and two slow centre backs. Just love everything about this guy ❤️.

At least his itch scratches don’t result in trying to decapitate other footballers. Romero could learn a thing or two!

He had quietly been going about his business the first few games and Spurs fans knew we had a gem. After last night, not anymore. I see on Twitter and various other forums football fans from around the World are now talking about how good our Vicario is. Nice to see him finally get some recognition.

Vic’s interview was really good too acknowledging the fans
TBF it felt like it was us and him on the pitch at times, there was times he was sweeping(something we haven't seen much of), he would hesitate and you think fuck, he's fucked this, he can't get it, than bang get it and the crowd went crazy

I sit at the back of the east stand. So I get to hear the atmosphere where it's coming from. Normally this season the atmosphere has been weak imo majority of the times from the stadium but great from the south stand and south east stand.

Today the whole Stadium was giving it their all. It was insane, the North stand was proper giving to the Chelsea fans starting their own chants

Incredible keeper. Does the things Lloris did well like sweeper keeper and reflex saves but better in one on one and better on the ball. He should be Italy number 1 honestly. It makes the world of difference to the defence too having a keeper behind you can trust. That is my only hope with our reserve centre backs, maybe just maybe they will be OK with Vic behind them.

I think Lloris put in some fairly comparable performances during his early years with us - back when he was playing as a proper "sweeper keeper". Lloris wasn't ever as good with his feet, but he was world-class at covering for our high line and one-on-one situations (best stats in Europe for sweeping during his first two seasons with us - most sweeps attempted, highest sweep success rate & highest success rate one-on-one) and world class at shot-stopping (most 'goals prevented' in the PL over a 3-year period). I don't have the opta stats to hand, but I (and others) posted them on SC at the time, while people were busy crying about a couple of errors without looking at the overall picture.
