Not going to knee-jerk, but this accumulation of key errors in huge games is becoming intolerable. Amazing shot-stopper, but if we need to progress we need a confident ball playing goalkeeper that can be relied on when we are up against it, not one that just sends nervousness throughout the team and stadium every time he's on the ball.

He lumps the ball aimlessly up pitch or hacks out shit lofted balls to the wingbacks that invite pressure. His shot stopping has waned as he’s aged and his mistakes are becoming more and more regular. And he’s meant to be our captain. Sets the whole tempo for the side it’s why we’re on the back foot so much. He’s absolutely hamstringing us.

People talk about the value of having experience in your side but what does it actually mean? Absolutely nothing. What they mean is footballing intelligence. Some players have it young, some learn it over time and others never do. Hugo is a World Cup winning captain and should be leading by example but he makes some shocking decisions and often in massive games. He hasn't learned. He makes massive saves too but he shows a lack of bottle so often.
