I think, from how it's been explained in the past, getting Hugo off the books now would be a good sign that we'll have room to bring one or two players in early - especially with Sanchez leaving at the end of the last window.

Something to do with Levy's hold on the overall wage bill, rather than the actual transfer fees involved...

Anyway, Hugo has been a phenomenal servant to the club and, a bit like with Jan and a few others, I hope he finds his way back here one day as a coach, exec or similar. Thanks for the good times, Hugo. 🙏😎

Around 100k a week to spend on someone else, or two.
It has been said on more than one occasion that Levy is more concerned with wages than transfer fees.
suppose wages just go into a black hole whereas transfer fees can be recouped in some way, but not if you pay them too much and no one else can afford them
Go to it Daniel.

Just imagine if we managed to mug N'Dombele off on someone.

Glad he is getting a desirable outcome.

It can be very tough for players at that stage of their career.

Largely unwanted apart from clubs who want to use them as help in short term contracts. Or offers from countries they dont particularly want to move to - and who can blame them when they have family and are that age.

So to move somewhere where him and his family will enjoy for a couple of years is great

I hope LAFC, I have season tickets to them and loved having bale, cmon bring Hugo out here :).

I will say though, my friend works at LAFC and said it's going to be a super down year and no real incomings happening, so more than likely LA Galaxy.

6 year contract, if only it had been 5 plus a one yr option, he would be gone in the summer.
Might have to pay him to go, surely no one will take him after his escapades in Turkey.

Long past time for Levy to pay off Ndomble's contract out of Levy's personal bank account. :sneaky:(y)

Absolutely loved Hugo here. So classy and produced so many fantastic saves. I’ll always miss and remember prime Hugo. He was a very astute signing.

especially when he used to be a sweeper keeper… he was lightning quick off his line in his prime

Great news for all. Good luck to Hugo wherever he's off to, he deserves to end his career on the pitch, not in the stands. Would be lovely to give him a proper send off against Bournemouth on NYE. The romantic in me says put him on the bench and give him the last 10 minutes after we've gone 5-0 up, but we might just have to settle for a lap of honour after the final whistle.
i reckon it'd be more of an embarassment for him to come on in the last 10mins
