Well... as I said...
I loved Eriksen but he never would have reached the same legacy as Modric. Modric moved to Madrid at 26 and hasn't looked back for almost 12 years never mind what he has done for his country.
Eriksen moved to inter at 28 and at first struggled to make the team, I don't believe real Madrid had ever considered buying him in that time.

Eriksen didn't have the consistency that Modric had but very few people in world football has. Eriksen worked hard and had amazing creativity but he did on occasions switch off. Modric could work hard if needed but had such intelligence it wasn't always required he could effortlessly make space like he had all the time in the world and just seemed to know instinctively where everyone was and ping it to the best option open to him wherever he was on the pitch. I would say Eriksen is in my top 10 players I have seen play for spurs. Modric is in the top 5 players I have seen ever.

It is a shame what happened to Eriksen and we will never know what he would have gone on to do had it not happened but I can't see anyway he would have matched modric. Very few in world football could.

Him being injured when we were on a roll played such a major part in derailing our season its important the folks that run our club notice and go find a worthy deputy.

I thought he was really poor first half today and though he improved a bit second half he still wasn’t good enough.

Slowed the game down too much, took too many touches and missed loads of opportunities to create quick attacking moments.

More like the Maddison at Leicester who I wasn’t a fan of at the moment.

My stream said he went straight down the tunnel after getting subbed as if he had a knock. Anyone hear anything on this?

Thought Gio showed more drive and energy when he came on.

Maddison just seems to be in his own head a bit too much either slowing it down or trying Hollywood passes (a lot with the outside of his foot)

Need to get back to playing it simple and keeping it ticking over, giving and going and the through balls will come.

Maddison seems to want to overcomplicate things at times. Gio kept it simple although he looked less comfortable coming deep to take the ball off the defence than Madders did.

He’s fine just a bit off form post his injury, good move to take him off today, wasn’t quite at it 1st half but then again not were most of the team

He hasn’t looked fully fit since he came back .

showed a few flashes but I can’t think of one game where he’s taken the game by the scruff of the neck like he did pre injury

I don't think he was poor in the first half. I think he was being man marked out the game and as a result he'd drop deep to pull Burke out of the defensive line. When they subbed Burke he looked much better because he wasn't being marked as closely.

I've often said GLC plays the game like he's on speed and I think we needed that to help us move the ball quickly

Bissouma and Maddison where the two purring at the start of the season.

No coincidence their form is correlating with the overall performance of the team of late.

They were so influential early on.

You know what.... That just clicks for me. I do think some times GLC is a few steps ahead and is waiting for players to move for him quicker. Today we were moving quickly and he just slotted right in and helped drive us today.

He has no business coming down to pick up the ball, but I see the reason why when we have no other midfielder capable of getting the ball further up the pitch.

If only we had prime bissouma or a dembelesque one, he would not need to run his socks off dropping into the space between defense and midfield.

He is best operating between our midfield and their defence.

He ain’t fit , no way ! He’s not dictating games in the final third. He’s not playing 90 minutes. He only got 15 minutes for England over 2 friendly games . His body language and mobility suggests he’s carrying a injury

Burke (I thought it was Burke) did the same with Gio when he came on, just seemed to move it on a bit quicker than Madds.
