Meh. Not gonna get wound up by a Cowlin tweet of all people. Didn’t seem in any discomfort coming off. Precaution after stiffening up would be my guess rather than anything serious if he’s being genuine.

Obviously Eriksen was a great player for us and that's a high bar. But on style of play I think Maddison is pretty like for like in how he moves with the ball and sprays passes like Eriksen did but also he seems to carry himself with a bit more authority if that makes sense.

Have always rated Maddison and highly and thought he could be pivotal for us in our transformation if we signed him, but he does have much more of a turn of the shoulder and burst of speed than I thought. Certainly more than just a good passer and striker of the ball.

How can you mistake someone limping on crutches mate?
Presumably they're saying he might be mistaken about who it was, not mistaken about whether whomever he saw was on crutches.

Edit: apparently true anyway

He definitely will have swelling/tightness if he is on crutches. Precautionary to help keep the weight off and will probably be going through the RICE Rest, Ice , compression and elevation until they can fully check it out.
Hopefully not too serious and just a minor sprain 🤞

He is a much better player than I thought he was. Turns out I'm an idiot.
He's a much better character than I thought he was as well. I always pictured him as being a bit cocky and full of himself but he's come across as the complete opposite since he's been here. I know Sonny is now the captain, but it won't be long until Maddison is the face of the club. He's been amazing on and off the pitch

James Maddison’s relationship with our fan base is a tremendous case study in football tribalism.

When he was at Norwich I thought he was a massive prick. When his tweets about Bale came to light I thought he was a massive prick (and probably a Gooner). When he was at Leicester I thought he was a prick. Now he’s ours, a joy to watch and coming across as loving his early days at the club and I want to get his name on my shirt. I’m 38.

I’m also pretty sure I’m not alone in any of the above.

P.S. hope his ankle is just swollen and he’ll be ok to play Bournemouth.

Hoping we may have some new players in before Bournemouth that could play if he isn’t 100%.

Although I was hoping we would have had some fresh blood in before todays game. So who knows 🤷🏽
