No way they're making such a song and dance about it if he's not ready to start.
I think if it was the FA cup final this weekend he’d start but as it’s not, and we have a lot of important league fixtures coming up m, he’ll be on the bench with the view of him getting 20-30 mins off the bench.

Or he'll start then come off after 25 minutes once we're 5-0 up. 🙃

Interesting. Be great to have him on the bench.

Definitely wouldn't be starting him after a long lay off against a team like City. Off the bench would be huge though. Hopefully he makes it.
I agree about most of your post but the part where it’s because it’s against city is bonkers. It’s an ideal game to play him in. They will come at us and there will be space for him to pass into behind. They’re also not that dirty either tbf. Not like they go out to smash opponents up. 👍

If he is fit, then one advantage of coming back against City is that - unlike a few teams we've played - they probably won't just try to kick the shit out of him all match.

Did we ever get to know why Ange kept taking off Madders at the start of the season?

i.e. was it a knock that eventually turned into a long term injury or was it unrelated?

Madders and Rodrigoat in the same midfield, my eyes have seen the glory
Not expecting Maddison to come back and start tearing it up immediately but I can't express how excited I am to see these two on a football pitch together.

I'm intrigued to see how bold Ange is tomorrow. A midfield three of Maddison, Bentancur and Kulusevski could produce some of the best football we've seen in years.

What a huge boost for the home crowd if Madders starts the game. An amazing lift ahead of a difficult and crucial match!

So could be:
Werner Richarlison Johnson
Madison Bentancur Kulusevski
Udogie VDV Romero Porro
Vicario

We could win with that team for sure, but need to win some tackles in midfield. Only one real ball winner.

That’s what I’d start with, could be 15 all at half time!

I just don’t see Kulu playing that number 8/6 role that Sarr usually plays. Essentially that role is to help protect the midfield from quick transitions. That is not Kulu’s game, he wants to be on the ball as a 10 making things happen. I also doubt he has the required defensive awareness.

Agreed. No need to overthink this I feel. Maddison, Bentancur, PEH. Switch Kulu if/when Maddison comes off an d bring on BJ in his place maybe but otherwise...
