Think his formed dipped during the AVB/ Sherwood period given the mess around the club and then post Poch he's just got better and better....seems directly correlated to his belief in the direction of the club and quality of team mates

Great talent but clearly was a point where he was frustrated with things a few years back that translated onto the pitch - don't blame him to be fair

Great he stuck with us and vice versa
He was off if Sherwood had of been kept on, and he wasn't alone in that.

The body language experts, with their degree in psychology, were certain that Vertonghen didn't care enough and was underperforming because he couldn't be arsed. I said back then that the problem is not that Vertonghen doesn't care. In fact it is opposite, he does care a whole lot, and when he is surrounded by mediocrity, it affects him, IMO. He strikes me as the kind of person who holds himself and others around him to a very high standard, and those types of people will only perform at their best when being part of an excellent group of high performers.

One thing's for definite, Jan Vertonghen is a damn sight better defender than Sherwood is a manager.
Amazing to read and think Levy was willing to give this clown a shot.

We all make mistakes I guess but would never have expected Levy given how shrewd he is. Lucky escape

Although I thought Sherwood was always a fan of Alli and Dier. Not sure why he’s been posting so aggressively about them on here lately

Argh ... I'm trying to retain myself but I can only assume you are wanting follow up questions so I'll indulge you. What is this about?

Amazing form at the moment. Has been out best defender for the last couple of seasons and just seems to be getting better and better.
