Sir Alex lost both pique and pogba by not playing them enough. He even brought Scholes out of retirement before playing pogba.

As for poch, I agree the list of great prospects with no opportunities is getting long. Kwp, Foyth, onomah and Edwards, at least the last two are actually playing football.

We really need to start blooding a few youngsters.
Poch is the best person to make those decisions.
Big difference playing in a cup game against a 2nd string wham side to a full bloodied pl match.
I think he could maybe bring them on for last 20min when we're a few goals up a bit more often but hey, we don't see them in training and Poch does.
Looks very promising though for Foyth.
Actually thought kwp struggled a bit tonight and was caught too far up the pitch on too many occasions but he is a talent, no doubt about it.

It is tough to see how he’s going to get minutes though, even now. He is unfortunately playing in a position which we have very well covered at the moment.

I think he has the potential to be one of the best CBs in the world though, his potential possibly has a higher ceiling than Davinson.

Hopefully he does enough this season to convince Poch and the fans that he is the guy to step in when Toby leaves.

I honestly think he has more potential than Sanchez... his ability on the ball puts him over the top for me. But I think Davinson is the better choice right now.

Wasn't there reliable ITKs saying Poch thought he was progressing quick enough?

Check again mate. They put out a very strong side tonight - Arnautovic was only on the bench as he wasn't fully fit.

He’s going to be the centre back Arsenal fans always wrongly thought Koscienly was. Huge potential, with Sanchez still being only 22 as well there’s a distinct possibility that through very good recruitment we’ve got a CB pairing to take over from the Belgians for the next 7/8 years.

I thought he did well tonight, composed and good at bringing the ball out - also a surprising turn of pace to get back once or twice.

But... Hernandez in particular was woeful tonight so it was perhaps a bit easier than might otherwise been expected. I like the lad and think he has the potential to be our next Jan - hope he gets more minutes (but not sure when).

We need to start playing he and Davinson together against the relegation candidates and such.

So just no Fabianski, Balbuena, Zabaleta, Cresswell, Noble, Yarmolenko, Snodgrass or Arnautovic. Apart from that, their strongest 11 that played us in pl few days ago :cautious:

Can I just ask as I’ve gotta be honest and say that I’ve never seen a single game that this lad has played let alone the 3 appearances that he’s made for us....... where is all this hype coming from?

I have seen him play for us previously and thought he looked excellent for such a young player. That being said another appearance he did have, he wouldnt have endeared himself to Poch and everyone as it wasnt his best performance I must admit. But that was understandable given the game and circumstances. I think he is exactly the type of player that poch needs to carefully select which games to play him in. But he absolutely should get a lot more minutes and if he doesnt then send him out on loan to a PL club. He shouldnt go to the lower leagues.

I would still prefer him to stay and play more often as he'll get more experience with the team. I think given the possibilities he could be the ready made replacement for Toby and if we sell him in Jan, then I would prefer we kept Foyth and gave him a lot more games and bought another type of player for backup/rotation for when he isnt performing as highly as Poch would like. Bottom line is we shouldnt spend on another CB when we have him already here and the money could be better spent on attacking positions.
