Would be very silly to get rid of someone with so much pace and who can cover ground very quickly when we have Wembley coming up. Perhaps after best season we can sell if he persists and wants to go.

we could use the money elsewhere. We could be a bit weaker at RB but significantly stronger somewhere else, which might even encourage other player to stay (perish the thought). It's not all doom and gloom.

Given our recent signings and our current first 11, I am no too optimistic that we would be able to be significantly stronger in any position.

Starting XI yes, but if you think we can't improve our bench then you have a lot more faith in Sissoko and N'Koudou/Janssen (only first season to be fair) than I do!

IF everyone is fit and available, then we have solid FB cover, a very promising CM in Winks, Lamela (IF he can come back firing) and one of Wanyama/Dier/Son/Dembele to call upon depending on formation used. We could really use a couple more starting quality bench options, which the likes of Utd, City and Chelsea have. If you can throw on a Zaha rather than Sissoko that is already a big improvement for me!

they'd never sell to us but really do think that Poch would turn Ox into the starting England right back
Yeah, I've been thinking that too. He had a tough time against Davies and Son last week, but that was mostly because Ozil fucked off up field. He's looked their best player in the last few weeks though. Got almost the same power and speed as Walker getting up and down the pitch, but much more quality in the final third, a really good crosser of the ball.

He's got 12 months to go in summer right?

Yes. Contract expires summer 2018.

Oxlade-Chamberlain could be incredible under a young and hungry coach like Pochettino, in various positions (very adaptable player IMHO). He'd be an ideal signing for us, I'd go for him over Barkley due to that adaptability. Problem is it's a non-starter due to him being at Arsenal, and if we're honest he'd get a much better financial package and possibly more guaranteed starting time at Liverpool.

Chamberlain's going to be 24 in the summer. Maybe a little too old to be trying to change his game?

Interesting, I've thought for a while that Poch could really improve O-C. Oh and, by the way, his cousin, who was my son's best man, says he wants a transfer this summer.

correct!
Would be beyond brilliant if he saw at the contract and came to us....but to be honest would love to see him join this summer

do you think there is any chance he'd consider a switch to work under Poch?

not if you think about the growth Walker has made in the last couple of years.
Two huge issues are the Goons won't want to deal and Pool would give him more money than any of our players

If/when he does go I'll be interested to hear the actual reasons behind it. Obviously his head has been turned by the money, but are we allowing him to make the decision to stay or to go because

a) we're actually pretty broke and could do with some Man City money?
b) we think we can probably get by without him with Trippier stepping up as first choice and KWP coming in as back-up?
c) clash of personalities/irreconcilable differences between Poch and Walker?
d) all of the above?

Well we just spunked 30m on Sissoko last summer so I suspect Levy must have some wiggle room.

We're gonna be paying players what we can afford. You've got no need to be doing all these calculations based on very little information.

You need to stop feeding into this media narrative that Levy only pays players 50k/60k a week because he's a tight fucker. When in reality if you look at the disparity between our revenue compared to our rivals the answer is right there.

No idea when I suggested Levy was a tight fucker. Completely agree we pay what we can afford to pay. We operate exceptionally well and are achieving beyond our financial standing.
My whole point was from this summer and mainly beyond our revenue compared to our rivals will be bridged. Whether all of that extra revenue will go towards paying off the stadium I don't know. Maybe we'll have to keep underpaying players comparatively and hope the project keeps them.

However if there was an extra say 10m a year thanks to this new stadium I don't think it's an absurd suggestion to bump up key players wages if required. We've had more financial flexibility recently allowing us to move to the 100k mark with Lloris and Kane. Personally rather than wasting money on certain transfers I'd rather give youth a chance and push certain key players to the 150k mark.
