this was posted by superted4 on coys: My mate was at the training ground friendly with Rotherham United today, he works for Rotherham. Said Edwards played well and when poch spoke to the Rotherham bench after the game said they were very excited about him.
@WindyCOYS added: Apparently the first team squad are all raving about Edwards.
Worth a tenner for Young Player of the 16/17 season?

Allardyce is an arch pragmatist and cynic, a English Mourinho but for resolving the problems of little clubs.

He will adopt an tactics that work, long ball or nice attacking football it's all about results with him so mainly long ball.

Anyway back to Edwards, so excited about this talent, has such an ability to change pace and direction the so called low centre of gravity player.

Maybe that's why we're not worried about Pritch, Clinton, Chadli etch leaving. We do need to clean up the squad if Edwards gonna be involveved with the first team this season.

#10 is probably his optimal position but he can still be very effective coming in from the right and that's basically where he's played all season.

I think it's a waste though when he really is a potential world class player putting him on the right.

If he's a potential world class player, then he would still do well on the right - just as Ronaldo, Bale, Messi, etc. can play anywhere in attack and still flourish.

Right now though? I get your point. Poch will play him in the middle most likely, but any time on the pitch is something he should be thankful for and would help him.

Poch does have a tendency to give young players minutes out wide though, where they have less responsibility, look at Onomah.

Losing the ball in the middle is suicidal.... so putting him on the flanks will help develop his confidence. Messi is also a FR, Bale plays there as well.... I think he will start in the cup games which I hope he takes his chances.

I think next season could be a bit to soon to see him command a regular starting spot.

I don't think you can compare him to bale or Ronaldo he is very different to them, they are very big 6'2 strong, powerful and quick ( and technically very good) Edwards is far better in tight spaces than bale his more like Silva and Messi but I don't think it's fair comparing him as his so young his still becoming a man we don't know how he will turn out.

More like Silva.... turning in tight space.

Not hard to change the formation around to get him in the hole. Assuming its a cup game and players are rested then it could be a 4-2-1-3 instead of the usual 4-2-3-1.

Put son and whoever the other player is up alongside vince or haz and chuck edwards behind the 3 of them
