You can pinpoint the exact moment everything started going wrong for Poch was when Dembele limped off after a couple of minutes against Wolves. We've never been the same since.

Masterful player.

Lovely little montage...

I watched those highlights and realized he did those sorts of things (not scoring goals, obviously) like routinely throughout matches at one point. Just such a special player; can’t really think of anyone like him. Power and pace yet graceful. Just makes me miss peak Dembele so much.

I’ll always maintain that 17/18 was his best season. The first half of that season how he dominated the likes of Arsenal and Man U at home as well as Juventus away. Unstoppable force. I was astonished how quickly he feel off once the following season started.

Dembele was such a powerhouse for Tottenham. He used he's body superbly in shielding the ball and we couldn't of asked for more as Modric replacement.

My question is if you had to pick between Modric or Dembele who will it be?

It’s odd just how good at football Mousa was, obviously Spurs fans adore him but his fellow pro’s who he has played with all say he is the best player they have played with.

Without the accolades, goals, assists and trophies he is in his own way one of the best players to play the game in that he was so unique but done what he did best, superbly.

There used to be a Modric compilation of his 11/12 season on YouTube it’s been since deleted but as much as I love dembele he never came close. Although they were completely different players. He was magnificent honestly everything that we think Ndombele can be.

I've seen so many stupid comments from non Spurs fans about Modric, who think he was made good at Real Madrid. He was already the best midfielder in the world when they signed him. Just needed time to adapt to new surroundings.

Modric. Don’t even have to think about it.

I don’t really have favourite players but if I did Dembele would be it. Both had fantastic press resistant ability Modric was obviously more effective in the final third and is why he got/gets more love but Dembeles defensive work and ability to wrestle us control of games was really underrated at the time. There is a reason why all our players rated him so highly.

Easily one of the best players I've ever seen at using his physique to maximum effect. So good at shielding the ball without fouling, always getting between the opposing player and the ball.

Dembele is my fave player not just for Spurs but ever... used to be Mendieta but this guy just so skillful, powerful, strong and what a dribbler.

Miss watching him muscle a player off the ball and then just glide through several players like a warm knife through butter. What a player!

When you see videos like that it reminds me that I'd never seen a player with his skillet before we signed him, and I'm pretty sure I never will again.

I always felt we had a chance of controlling the middle of the park against any side when he was on the team. We don't have that now. Miss him.
