Exactly how I see it also, I think Skipp will be a revelation, I'm pinning the future of Tottenham Hotspur on Skipp, DO NOT LET ME DOWN SKIPP
Need to give it some time, but Skipp has got a very high ceiling. He is also very coachable and prepared to work very hard to get better and better.

I don't think it will take too long until Skipp is better than him, but overall he has been decent this season. And probably a useful (squad)player for years to come. Great mentality as well.
you're going to have to change your name.

His tank has run empty, think it's unfair to be critical of him now. We were happy with him earlier in the season.
It’s so typical of the modern day fan really. Such short memories. He’s been excellent for us this season, in his first year and surrounded by so much dross. If it wasn’t for Kane, he’d be my player of the season. He’s earned the right to a couple of poor performances. We’ve flogged him all year.

There's a small part of me that feels like we overstated how good he was because we actually got to see a DM playing DM rather than Winks or Sissoko but relative to other DM's in the league he might be average and not close to the top ones in the league. I think that's more a worry than an actual belief I hold but we'll see under a new man in charge.

I think there's truth in this. He's been in the league a few years now and he's always been a solid middling DM. He's done a good job because that was a massive hole in the squad. But at the same time he's on the bench for Spurs in the Sandro/Wanyama/Dembele years and the teams above Spurs in the league wouldn't be rushing to put him in the first XI either.

Who's flogged him all year?

Is it us?

Or is it the guy you've been arguing like fuck to protect in the Everton match thread?

I think Hojbjerg suffers more than most when the team doesn’t press as a unit. Early on in season when the majority of squad had brought into Mourinho ball he looked great as his game intelligence and effort are very good. Now the whole team seem more less intense so he is pressing on his own at times and just gets passed around.

He doesn’t have the physical attributes of a peak Kante and needs the whole team to be a unit to shine.

Yep. And i'm pretty certain Skipp will eventually start ahead of him before the end of next season.

I know he has played a lot of games and it isn't his main job, but is it just me or is he not very good when in possession? Love his endeavour and the work he gets through but got to admit, his touch and passing looks quite poor a lot of the time. Don't expect him to be Pirlo but sometimes I watch him on the ball and he just looks so uncomfortable for a player at this level.

Limited player, but a warrior, he can have a good Spurs career and isn't really an issue - just that he's spent for this season

Whoever plays with him seems to always gets criticised. I think he’s as much a part of the problem. He can’t cover the ground, plays 5-10 yards deeper than he should because of it and our midfield gets outnumbered or he draws his partner back to keep in contact with him. He also hides behind players and calls for the ball as much as Sissoko. Fist pumps are great though.

Works hard, but is very limited compared to players like Ndidi, Rodri / Fabinho (still), Kanté, Fabinho etc.

You need a top player in that vital position if you want to compete with the big boys.

Not really blaming him but he was on the post for their goal but not tight enough and it squeezed through, which is amateur stuff.

Other than that he's probably one of the few who doesn't have a pathetic victim mentality, but give it another season or two here and he'll develop one no doubt.

Agree but he is still better than winks and Sissoko. Obviously we need a better player but he is the least of our worries

He is certainly better than those two donkeys, but the fact that he is (by far) your best option is a problem in itself.
