Once again, he's come in and done brilliantly. Maybe not first choice but that "massive drop off" everyone in the media keeps going on about wrt to our midfield starters just isn't there IMO.

Unless you're Citeh, of course there's going be a slight difference in ability/quality.

If you want someone to block shots and not much else he's fine but his lack of pace is glaringly obvious in this set up.

We need more mobility and I'd still sell him.

Next we'll be saying Dier isn't a drop off.

I swear this bloke doesn't run. He just looks like he's running, but peer closely and he jogs slowly. Taking off Sarr, who was played out of position, but leaving PEH on was a critical error today. This 'viking' myth about PEH makes me dizzy. He's a phenomenal talker and pointer and shouter, but when it comes to actually doing the grunt work he is nowhere to be seen. Ange had the right idea when he sidelined him at the start of the year, and I understand Bissouma's yellow cards have left him in a tight spot, but his efforts for both goals were atrocious. First one, he's meant to be covering the CB - that's Ange's style of football. Doesn't matter that Dier is slow, the DM should drop in. Second one, he just kicks the ball straight back to them.

We desperately need to wash our hands of the old guard. It's no coincidence that our side was utterly rudderless when this guy was starting every week.

He works hard but gives the ball away too much so has too just to make up for it. I'm fine with him as a sub but he can't be starting games and needs to be replaced in Jan. He's done well generally this season off the bench, did well at home to Fulham but really poor today with the ball.

Lost possession and cost us the point Dier earned us with his own fuck up that cost us the three points. Fuck both of them.
I can't believe they were the only two players to make mistakes today. Totally unacceptable.

lost his runner for both goals, can't keep possession of the ball under any pressure, and just does not run at all. I personally cannot wait to see the back of him.

Thought he had an awful game. Sloppy in possession, and didn’t get anywhere near their midfielders all game.

He's only good with coming in mid-game. Like Davies, these are players seemingly can only hold their concentration/fitness for the 20 or so minutes.

Let’s be honest irrespective of whether they start or come in mid game they are not good enough for a top 6 team.

Hojbjerg does the best that he can, and he is not a bad player (although he does struggle under pressure). But when we play all three of him, Dier and Davies, it really hurts our buildup play badly. The drop in quality is so great from Ange’s preferred starting XI.

Been saying this for ages but he’s been well defended on this forum.

Agree. He’s in the same boat as Dier & Davies levels for me, mabye very slightly above them but ultimately too slow, not good enough technically and not good enough under pressure.

Very bad fit for Ange's style of football.

Replace in Jan if we can.

He was never the fastest but his legs look to have gone to me. Far too ponderous yesterday.

He has his moments but mostly only looks good in lost causes and when the rest of the team look half hearted. Not the kind of player you would want in your team when it is on the top in my opinion.

Can’t understand why Ange broke up the Sarr Bissouma partnership. PEH just not mobile enough and poor in possession, then Sarr as a 10 was lost and largely ineffective.
