The market has changed a fair bit in the last few years since we signed him.

Even if you think he’s the same quality of player that we signed him for, £15m back then is at least £25m now

Fair enough. Same quality, but older and less potential - ceiling reached.

Didn’t we only pay £15mil, he’s not really any better than when he was at Southampton.

They would have asked 25 back then if contract was stronger. He's now played for a far better club and been among our best (top 5) players in his stay.

still a good player. He has limitations but is very professional and reliable. at £30-40m I think we can consider but this is about £15m.

He can still be useful to us so that offer is the type of offer we criticise Levy in the past for when he puts in an insulting bid.

Personally think the chickens are coming home to roost with levy’s behaviour over the last couple of decades. Every other club gets ‘acceptable’ offers for their average players. We get awful offers. Relationships go a long way in business and it’s starting to become too coincidental in my opinion. We struggle to sell, we struggle to buy. Everything is a bit of a drama

Nah the main issue is a lot of teams around Europe don't have the money we do in England. It just makes it difficult to sell abroad and selling teams also up their asking price for English clubs.

Being ruthless and getting unwanted players out is to take what we can get and run. Ange won't play Hojbjerg they were the only team interested, I'd have taken it.
Though he been a regular starter and would one of the few you want a market price for. IMO if Board are being pointed at for not paying the fees quoted for our first or second choice targets then they can't also be pointed at holding a few for more desirable assets

I’m definitely one that doesn’t think he’s a top player. He’s mostly decent, with moments of quality and moments of incompetence. Anything less than the 20-25m pound range is a poor deal for us though. Anything on the upper end of that range would see me dealing and putting the money towards a CB. Sarr will take Hojbjerg’s minutes and I think he’ll thrive this season

Listening to Tottenham Way podcast which has journos Tom Allnut and Tom Barclay as regulars. They think it's not looking as certain as it was a few weeks ago that he will be sold. Certainly gone quiet in media, Madrid are strapped for cash so asking price can't be set too high if they're only option

I do find it interesting that there isn't more interest in him...
