The Davies injury and likely departure of Dier will now speed this up I'm sure but unfortunately I've not caught up with my mate so no update my end.

If Napoli have reached an agreement this should at least mean there's a conclusion to this over next couple of days. If we can't wrap it up then we'll be moving on quickly, wonder who our back up is as it's unlikely to be todibo given the price that is being quoted in media.

Thought ITK dismissed Todibo as it's a difficult deal to do, probably more difficult than this one.

I will genuinely be gobsmacked if he goes to Napoli over us, we were extremely confident despite their interest because he wants us. I really don't think that has changed and they will get more cash from us than Napoli so . Also, really not sure I'd put too much faith in that source, isn't it the equivalent of the Daily Mail reporting the same in England?!

Shouldn't we be asking Paratici why he didn't recommend we gazump Genoa last July and offer Juve 15 million for him , Juve would be a lot better off and so would we.

Dragusin did so well in his loan from Juventus to Genoa that the permanent transfer clause to Genoa was triggered in January 2023.

We had been monitoring Dragusin's performances at Genoa, as this article from November 2022 demonstrates, but the permanent transfer meant we'd always have to deal with them, and not Juventus.

And, sometimes, you just need to let a player mature and perform in the bigger leagues to demonstrate to the club, and fans, that he's the player for you.

Even with Paratici's record in talent-spotting, it's quite a leap for the club to agree to shell out money for a 20-year-old Romanian with 1 international cap playing in Serie B. And, even if we had, there's no guarantee that we, the fans, would have welcomed the signing then, as we're hoping to welcome it now.

No-one in this thread, for instance, is currently questioning whether Dragusin will block the path of Fagan-Walcott, which they were back in November 2022.

Yea difficult one to do because of the price they will want for him. And fair play to Nice why shouldn't they demand a high fee for him given their position.

Hopefully we can sort this for Dragusin as not getting him in this window doesn't look great
