Football fans are an interesting lot.

When Richardson was getting into positions - but not scoring - he was criticized for not being able to score.

When he scores, he is getting criticized for not making it look pretty enough.

I get the sense that some people just don't like him, and will never be satisfied with his efforts.
Tough crowd - i love him , I hope he proves all the Debbie Doubters wrong

I like him and I am satisfied with his efforts (think he gives his all) but I am not satisfied with his returns to date. He has to now start producing consistently for us.

Hopefully he can go on a run of goal scoring now and finally shut up his doubters. By all reports he has been hampered significantly by an injury prior to this which has now been sorted. So lets see how he gets on. For the record I really like him, he works his balls off for the team and really looks like he cares so I'm totally behind him and hope he can make the next step.

Everyone mis-controls every now and again.
Not saying it's simple/easy; average strikers would have a tough times, better ones do it more consistently and elite ones will do it effortlessly. Just highlighting why he isn't a prolific goalscorer.
It's a goal yes. But the result doesn't justify the means.
Using an example of a goal he scored to highlight why he isn't a prolific scorer is an odd approach

Son literally took a bad touch which led to him being foul by Dubravka. It happens all the time.

I thought it was a really composed and tidy finish from Richy. Long may it continue.

Can't believe I am reading that Richarlison scored but because his touch wasn't great you're still moaning? Just be pleased he bagged two and neither with his head. The guy works his ass off for the team whether he scores or doesn't.

He could score goals off his bum and I would celebrate all the same. Some people are just never happy are they?

I don’t think it’s absurd to be criticizing his touch. His first touch is often wayward, as it was for the goal.

Saying that, if you criticize the first touch you must also praise the desire to make something happen after he messed up the first touch + recognize that it was a good finish.

I don’t think he’s good enough to be our #9 long term, but I’d like to think all of our players deserve objectivity.

for those naysayers, Twas his first start after his surgery n playing in #9 for Ange and scored a brace and still you have so much to nitpick about?

now how about that for a typical centre forward headed goal then?

2 starts post surgery for ange as #9, in 1.5 matches, 3 goals

boom

Just shows that players who are fully fit and confident look like completely different players, Sonny the same this season vs last.

I'd fucking hate him if he didn't play for Spurs, but winding up the Forest fans throughout this celebration is a wonderful wonderful sight

He has never failed to put in a shift. As shocking as it might seem, so many individuals who are paid to "play" football don't always do this and after a defeat go on twitter or the likes and comment we go again or some other shite. He's not Kane, or VDV, or even Bale. But he always try's and he will always work hard. Honestly believe we should be offering him a contract extension as there is nobody else out there who will give the same. We won't replace his effort for any price and if we back him I think he'll be amazing.

I've never understood him as a signing. 60 odd million for a backup striker? He's quite poor on the left, and does absolutely nothing on the right. He'll score a few goals as a 9 but he's always been a fairly limited player. For ages people have defended him by saying he's Brazil's number 9...it means nothing. I wish people would judge him by what they see rather than some vague notion of what they hope a Brazilian striker should be. Brazil don't need him to do much other than press with intensity and score the chances others will create (which he's never actually done that well). We can't carry players like that.
God. All he does is finish chances others create. Get rid!

Another lovely goal and run himself into the ground for the team. I'm not his biggest fan but he made a difference last night. Well played !

Obviously as opposed to needing someone who gets involved in the build up play or creating his own chances. I didn't say all he does is finish his chances, because he doesn't. 5 league goals in 41 games tells you that. If ALL he did was finish chances then you'd hope he'd finish a hell of a lot more than that many.

Good on him for getting fit and scoring goals. Long may it continue. But if you're gonna quote me after he's got 3 in 2 then you might wanna look at the bigger picture.
