I said in a previous post, that the PL would be better off without his shenanigans. If he does sign for us, he will be the best Brazilian I've seen, since Brenda the stripper in Benidorm.

But he's not as versatile as Richarlison to play across the forward line and let's be honest, strikers coming in from Serie A have hardly set the world alight in the PL so carries a bigger risk and like I said, he's another Vinicius/Janssen/Llorente twiddling his thumbs waiting for Kane to get injured to play any meaningful minutes.
Yeah personally would much prefer someone like Richarlison who could feasibly come in for any of Kane, Son or Kulu to an all out no.9 who would be fighting for scraps unless Kane got injured.

Of the two Brazilian strikers we are linked to... Richarlison and Gabriel Jesus... I know who I would rather have... 1) The one who acts like a shithouse or... 2) the one who is acting like he's always looking for a shit house... ? ... that would be number one for me ?

When you see what Conte’s team have done with Davies, Doherty and even Kulusevski and Bentancur who many said were duds… you’ve got to be a little excited about what he could do with Richarlison.
Very true.

I rated Richarlison from his time at Watford and thought he had very good potential. I was a bit disappointed to see he hadn't become more clinical once he stepped up and got more experience.

But if this is a player Conte really wants then great. I await to see what he can do with him.

The question is ONLY if there a player of similar quality that you can get cheaper? I'd say yes, when Liverpool get someone as good as Luis Diaz for cheaper than what this price is being quoted.

Prem proven is bullshit. Scout properly and then you don't have to pay the buying from other English clubs tax.

Richarlison is a decent/good player. We all know what he is, he's just not worth 50m and that's the truth.

There will be 4 or 5 deals done for over 50m this summer maximum. It is not the new norm that decent Prem players move for 50m.
Give us a viable alternative then? One who would actually come and the selling club not look to command an inflated fee (Darwin Nunez) or negotiate with us as a rival (Jesus)

Interesting that no other top journalist has commented on the link. Normally by now we'd have heard 'Spurs like Richarlison but are not yet close to securing his signature' or 'Been told Spurs are advancing in negotiations to secure Richarlison'.

Being a twitter whore, I can confirm that journo is extremely reliable.

Richarlison, I am not sure, I've never watched him and thought wow I really want him, but then at times I've thought wow, he's by far their best player. Although that doesn't neccesarily say much when you play at Everton.

Then again he's Brazilian number 9, a great age and PL experience, also great attitude and work rate, and his end product is there too.

So, yes I'm all for it. He could explode by playing in a better team

Good point.

We're paying for a PL proven, quality, attacking forward here.

I would rather buy 2 players from the continent at 30m with a high ceiling than pay 50m for a 1 in 3 man from Everton.

This just makes sense. The market for strikers isn't great this year.

This transfer is the perfect replacement for berg

Don’t like his constant play acting at all but seems like he’s a ‘winner’ absolutely hates losing which conte will love and he’s a decent player who could cover all front 3 positions so if Conte wants him and we can get a deal done then would be good business, just hope he cuts out his playacting or reduces it a bit as it’s embarrassing and far too often.

name them then?

we don't need only players with potential, we need winners and players at their peak right now, or very close to reaching their peak and can be molded very quickly

People like Alasdair Gold will frantically be trying to confirm with their sources. Should have further info on how close this is in the next hour I’d imagine

There's a problem with this view though. Diaz went to Liverpool. The high quality players for £50m are still going to be choosing clubs like Liverpool over us.

All summer we're going to read posts about various targets and fans will ignore the obtainability factor and the quality of the teams making a move for the player's signature.

Given Richarlison's profile. 25 year old, Brazilian international, 2 years on his contract and an attacker with Prem experience and £50m becomes a pretty standard fee in 2022.

The question is whether the club see him as the right man. It appears Conte really wants him and Paratici will try to provide. It's a big move by Conte. Successful managers need to get their big signings right. This is a big call.

In the champions league you need players who throw themselves to the ground as often as possible as you always get free kicks. For that alone he’d be a good signing.

If it is between him and Jesus then I’m leaning towards Richarlson.

So let me get this straight, usually we get complaints about us not spending enough money, but now apparently we're spending too much. Not only that, but we're pretty much at the point this summer whereby we have a huge budget so one big signing shouldn't impact any others. What are people complaining about?

Based on my calculations of how a player we're excited to sign typically does for Spurs, I have to say Richarlison might end up being our greatest ever player.

We're spending our saturday on a football forum, we're deeply, deeply unhappy
