He strikes me as more of a Poch player than an Ange one. It wouldn't surprise me if we did sell him if Ange liked Parrot or Scarlett. But I think the smarter move would be to keep him until the Kane situation is resolved one way or another.
What makes you say that? I think he would be perfect for Ange's system. Presses very well and has good movement.

Even if Kane leaves I think Richy would fair well playing in front of Son, Maddison & Kulusevski.

To think that we've also got a potentially very improved Bissouma to feature behind them too, makes you think the side is taking shape nicely.

If Kane leaves we need to reinvest the lions share of that in a 20 goals a season striker or we'll be in deep shit.
In the last two seasons Maddison have averaged a goal every three games , if he keeps that up then should get about 10 goals as he misses around 8/9 games a season injured . Usually find when someone leaves like a Greaves or Bale someone else will step up to fill the breach , Richy owes us about 10 goals and Sonny might find a new lease of goalscoring.

The thing is we have those players already and we're losing 39 goals from Kane. Son could find some form again but if not he was badly declining last year. Richarlison has never scored that volume of goals in his career.

We need a proven goalscorer and Richardson isn't that.

Tighten our defence and we will need less goals. And they don't have to come from just one player. If Kane leaves, then things will be different... but not necessarly worse, in terms of performance and results.

I agree we will have to be on the lookout for a new striker if Kane leaves, but I very much doubt all three of Son, Richarlison and Kulusevski will have goalscoring seasons as poor as last year.

They scored 13 league goals between them, which in a bang average season Son is capable of alone. Add Maddison in to the mix and between the four of them I think a pessimistic target would be 35 goals. If you consider between our four main attackers last season we scored 43, is 8 really that much of a drop-off?

The point I'm trying to make is if we can target and acquire a striker who is worth spending the money on, great. If there is no one available within our budget I think we'd be able to get through a season without replacing Kane providing we sort out our defence, as not conceding 3 goals a game means we wont necessarily need a 30 goal-a-season striker to bail us out year on year.

If Kane goes and Richy does play up top then we need to be like Arsenal last season and spread the goals throughout the team , co top scorers in PL, Martinelli 15 , Odegaard 15, Saka just behind with 14 , it can be done .

This is exactly how City won the league in 2021-22, pre-Haaland.

Their top scorers in that PL campaign were De Bruyne (15), Sterling (13), Mahrez (11), Foden (9) and Jesus / Silva / Gundogan (8)

It's all good and well saying we should just spread the goals out but playing in a way that makes it possible, and having enough good players to make it happen are totally different things. Very few teams have numerous players approaching double figures in goals.

I think we'll struggle if Richy is our main goal threat.

I agree but going out and finding a 20 plus a season PL striker is also going to be very difficult , last season only Haaland , Kane & Toney achieved 20 or more in the PL , strikers like that are gold dust.

You're talking about World class players we don't have that quality at the moment to spread the goals. Kane goes and we will score less not just his goals but the assists to Son and others. We need Ange's team to one that will probably score less but win more matches.

When you look at his age, skillset, ability to work extremely hard, and nationality, I still think there is a strong place in this team for him under this manager. He covers a lot of ground and is versatile in his skills. I also think Levy/C-suite seems to value brand recognition and there is something to be said about his brand in Brazil over the next 10 years.

If we are going play 4-3-3 under Ange then he could get game time as a RW or LW when Son needs resting or as a pressing striker ST if Kane is injured or leaves but he’s not a natural fit and not a guaranteed starter unless Kane leaves and we don’t sign another striker so I could see him possibly pushing for a move but will be very interesting how Ange decides to use him.

Good player just needs games and confidence in a system and style that suits him.

Ange's style of football should be a lot better for him.
