Ultimately it's up to the gaffer, but I'd honestly rather give him a good go before splashing out on a new striker. He had terrible luck with injuries last season, plus I really think Ange's system really suits him.

I'd love to see what a good run of games under Ange would do to him.
Like you and @Bluto Blutarsky view on trying Richy also we can hopefully spread the goal contributions around a lot more with our new style of play.

Agree but would you have Richy as our 1st choice n.o9 or bring a new one in and Richy remains the back-up rotation option?
I'm more than happy to give Richy a chance, however what happens if he gets injured like he did for parts of last season? We'll be left short. Rather than making him first choice, I'd like to see an equally talented player to rotate with him, and if you get someone like Muani you can play him as a CF or alongside Richy at RWF so that Kulusevski can be rotated too.

Team Richarlison for me.

Give him a proper go as a starting 9, and then reassess in January.

I’d buy a top LCB and a good RW/forward with the Kane money.
Watching the friendly against West Ham, he seems ideal for Ange's style of football. He was constantly on the shoulder of the centre backs looking for runs in behind. With Maddison, Son and Kulu behind him dropping in little slide rule passes, he should thrive.

We happy for him to be our n.o9 if Kane goes if we say used the money to buy 2x CB,s a CM a goalscoring RW and a back-up ST?

Or would people prefer that we went and spent big on a Vhalovic, Toney, Muani etc?

If the latter then Richy £60mil on the bench seems a bit of a waste.

I'm not decided either way how we best approach this, he looked great for Brazil and I think he fits a pressing style forward Ange would want but he's not quite done it in a Spurs shirt yet so would be a bit of a gamble.

I want him to play and do well with us but also think we'd be stupid not to bring in another contender for the role. I'd rather us be ruthless and have 2 players in most positions that we feel should be playing. Let the players battle it out in training and whoever is performing gets the job for me.

Way easier said than done but I don't think we should sell Kane and say well we spent 60m on Richy - he'll do. Not to mention he had some bad injury luck last season.

I think the second half in the game against West Ham shows how good he could be for the Ange system (for the whole team). This doesnt mean I dont want someone else to come in to compete/ play when he is injured. I just think the all round chaos he causes for defences and pressure he puts on them suits our play. Arsenal have Jesus who doesnt score a lot (also doesnt start above him for Brazil) and they almost won the league!

I just think we shouldnt cast him aside so quickly. He could be a very important player for us.

I am shocked by how many people completely dismiss him as a potential Kane replacement.

I get bringing in competition, but I see a lot of people wanting to bring in a starter as though Richarlison were not even in the squad.

Well from what I have seen of him, it is certainly going to be a significant downgrade.

Have you seen him play much as a central striker?

I have not seen much of him in that role outside of Brazil.

And, let's be honest, anyone we sign will be a significant downgrade to what Kane offers. The good news is, under Ange, we should be less reliant on a single player, and instead have several players who will be part of attack.

I definitely think it’s sensible to give him an opportunity. He has a 1 in 2 strike rate when played as CF in an attacking team for Brazil. He has qualities that seem to fit with an Ange system in terms of being an elite presser, high work rate, and good movement.

There is a definitely an argument to bringing in another versatile forward to rotate in any of the front 3 positions. But it would be a waste to go and spend £100m on a specialist striker that would most likely consign Richy to the bench. As in my mind he can only play CF in Ange’s system, and won’t have the dribbling ability to play out wide. Being out of Europe will mean much less chances for rotation so we don’t want too many specialists leading to an unhappy squad.

Next season the way to think about it isn't replacing 30 goals from Kane but replacing 40 from the front line. Son 15 Kulu 10 Richie 15. Doable

He'll definitely create space for deeper runners, the agent of chaos should always have one of our CM's in close proximity to profit from the bits and pieces.

To be fair he's never been a goal machine, but what I think having Richarlison (and Sonny) does mean is that if Kane leaves then the forward line is not in a complete state, and should hopefully mean we're not forced to pay outrageous fees on replacements. It's not comparable to when we sold Berbatov having already sold Robbie Keane. There's also the important context of James Maddison being able to replace some of Kane's creativity.

If Kolo Muani, Vlahovic, Toney prices are ridiculous then we can change strategy and go for a winger, pushing Sonny and Richarlison to be the forwards.

Definitely need another striker , ideally a versatile one. I think Richarlison will do well but still need 2 for each position. If we keep Gil then we're good for wide attackers. It sounds from Ange he likes Son in his wide attacking role so we have Son, Soloman, Kulusevski and Gil. So we need another centre forward if Kane goes and let them compete. Fed up seeing players as squad players. Get the best we can get for the position and let the players fight for a spot.

I’ve watched about 9-10 matches in person so far (4 preseason, the rest epl) and 4 open training sessions and I’ve always been amazed by Kane’s finishing

today I got to watch Richie train for the first time and other than a couple of careless swings or trying something outrageous, his shooting and heading abilities are so so good, placement or power, he gets both

that said, perisic’s heading is arguably best of the lot (H wasn’t involved in the post training shooting/heading drills)

I like him. Think he'll do well. The team and squad would be much better served going after a full fat starter at CB than spunking it all on an H replacement.

Love him as a guy,

But just don’t think he has any stand out abilities at all and isn’t anywhere near the level of Kane or any 20 plus striker.

0 Pace
0 First Touch
0 Composure

I could go on but while he’s here I pray he comes good but have a feeling come January we will be trying to ship him out

For pace, he’s quick over longer range, he’s just not got killer acceleration over 5 yards.

The other two are both things that can be effected by confidence. He was a fish out of water last season. Let’s see how he looks after a few goals when he feels good again.

He looked too anxious to impress last season and similarly to Bissouma I don't think Conte's tough love approach would have worked well with him. Richarlison strikes me as a confidence player, and he'll also fare much better as a 9 rather than shunted out wide, especially on the right.

At least if we sold Kane over the next couple of weeks, we could probably afford to wait until deadline day for a replacement striker. No issues with Kulu, Richy, Son for the first few games.
