I think Son benefitted from playing against a team that gave him plenty of space to run into. Against teams that park the bus, I'm hoping that Richi's willingness to scrap and be a bit of a pain in the arse, will occupy the CBs and give others a bit of space to play in.

Hopefully Ange is in his ear, helping him to do what he needs to as we aren't buying another £60M CF any time soon.

Brasil's no 9, starting up top against Bolivia in the qualifier, supported by Neymar.
Gabriel Jesus and Martinelli ride the bench as usual.

It was a brilliant save. The pigeon just can't get the rub of the green.

Aaaaaaaaand as I type this he skies over from 7 yards out

Yep, that summed up just how much his luck is out, he really snatched at that chance :(

Come on Richy

Man’s going through a hard time and he clearly wears his heart on his sleeve. If we support him he’ll pay it back with interest.

Sounds like he sat on the bench crying after he got subbed off. He’s really struggling and just can’t contain his emotions.

Yeah but he's at this level, so if he plays I think everyone should support him. I'll be doing my bit at the ground if he plays.
I completely agree but at the moment he's not producing enough quality to start for us.

I'm starting to think he might have some mental stuff going on the club could do with supporting him with. The Bournemouth away second half he got upset way too easily and crying when you come off for Brazil and your team is winning is not normal. I'm not hojbjergs biggest fan but at least his attitude is on point. Richy needs to start thinking of the team and be a more positive influence to the younger guys.

If he does have some stuff going on we should get him help and take him out of the firing line.

Selling him to a mid table club will do him a world of good. Might seem harsh but he can start fresh and will feel like a big fish in a small pond, which normally will bring back the confidence.

Feels like if he doesn’t score he gets criticised/emotional, think he’d benefit for club & country, playing back on the wings.

Well let's just wait and see what Ange can do with him. I feel confident that he will be able to help him through this rough patch.

Emerson had a ton of hate and negativity thrown his way, but he kept his head down and kept working, look where he is today.

Richy is in a bad spot right now but he is by no means a bad player.

I have full faith he can turn his own fortunes around, just like I did when Emerson had a bad patch.

Having Ange there to guide him is another positive in his pursuit for confidence and form.

Son's performance last week was excellent and it's likely he's now seen as our 1st choice number 9.

I feel like this season is it for Richarlison at Spurs. He's at an age and stage of his career where he likely wants to try to be 1st choice at a big club. He has this season to get up to level and make a spot his own or I think he'll have to move on.

Richy is clearly passionate and wears his heart on his sleeve, something I didn't expect before he joined. He genuinely cares about club and country and wants to contribute to their success. His current goal drought, combined with his emotional nature, is a tough combo. Plus, being so active on social media, he likely sees a lot of the negativity thrown his way, which can lead to a downward spiral of confidence.

Let's remember he's one of ours, and he deserves our backing. Constructive criticism is fine, but hurling insults is a low blow for self-proclaimed "supporters.". It's not like he's refusing to give his all, if anything, he might be trying too hard.

I reckon many will eat their words once he's back on form. The last thing we'd want is to drive away such talent and regret it later.

Yea on one hand I feel sorry for him as he’s going through a tough patch but on the other hand to cry so regularly and to let your head drop or get frustrated so easily like he does given that he’s 26yrs old and has been playing professional football for a number of years now is not good enough in terms of his mentality (unless he has off the field stuff going on which we don’t know about then fair enough), otherwise I’d expect that behaviour from a young player but not a 26yr old adult fully fledged Brazil international.

I hope he starts scoring and finds his best form but if I’m completely honest I’ve never liked his personality at all and would not be unhappy to see him sold next summer but ofc whilst he’s our player we have to get 100% behind him and support him during this tough period.

I'd start him against Sheffield United. Ideally I would persevere with him as a 9. Don't think he's played badly at all, occupies defenders, makes good runs and creates space for others (which is exactly what the 9 is meant to do in Ange's system). Needs a league goal, and he'll be fine.
