As already mentioned, don't think he has the technical ability to play in a side that is looking to play quick, attacking football on the front foot an. He looks very mechanical and unnatural when found in attacking positions and seems to need that extra few seconds to sort himself out. He'll have his moments for sure and if chasing a game, think he is a good option off the bench to try and shake things up but find him incredibly frustrating to watch and struggling to see him as a starter long term.

His finishing ability is not really a surprise. Think he has completed 6 full seasons in the league and hit double figures 3 times in terms of goals in that time with 13 being the highest he has scored in a season.

Feels like he is better suited to an underdog type of team where expectations are maybe lower and the team play to his strengths somewhat.

The jury is out on Richi. His off the ball work is excellent and he does create chaos, and is as good as anyone getting into dangerous positions. But he is missing far too many chances. I had high hopes and think if his confidence returns, he'll come good, possibly very good. However, Ange is a realist. you can't keep rewarding him starts without an improvement on his finishing.

Had a poor game and should've done better with his finishing but we still a lot more games to contend with and Richy can still play a part. He had an assist last week and generally looked to be getting his confidence after his impact vs Sheffield. I'm not ready to right him off and I think Ange feels the same.

Honestly unless he comes good with Scarlett and Veliz coming through I doubt he will be here next season. Confidence or not you can't miss that first chance. We didn't have much choice to start him today but he's very much a sub. Like Hojbjerg he'll work hard for the team at least.

If he was a defender and the first chance was at our end, we’d be saying how good it was as a clearance off the line.

Desparately trying to back him and keep positive but it just doesn't look like it's going to ever work. Can't help but feel he needs to go somewhere, fresh start and be loved.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

I thought he was alright today. That first chance, you see if a lot where players dont expect the ball to actually reach them and they switch off a bit.

Needs to get some goals though

His character as a person is great but as a footballer it really isn't. His head goes down after anything goes against him and he lets it destroy his game.
I think he thinks he’s must better than he is and then gets in his head when he comes out second best on the pitch in his battles. It’s always about the battles for him rather than just playing the game.

His confidence is on the floor. He's admitted he's had a hard time personally lately. It's ridiculous to say this is his level, but yes he has been really poor. I still believe. He's performed in the Premier League before and performs his country. It'll happen.

He'll have his chance to turn it around, either until January or the summer.
But it's obvious he can't be this player for us when next season kick off.

Should have gone with his head or chest for the first chance. Made it difficult for himself.

Second chance a bit more juice on the shot and it goes in.

Still think he has a role to play but may be from the bench more often than not.

He's just not good enough for this level. Technically not good enough, mentally not good enough, can't finish his chances to make up for it.

I sympathize with him personally and hope his struggles mentally are behind him, but at some point you have to produce and for a player we bought from within the PL for 60 million, I expect more than 2 PL goals in 14 months.

It’s not gonna happen, he doesn’t offer much at all.

Likeable fella but how did we spend 60m on him? He can barely control the ball.

Has he scored with his feet for us yet?

I feel a bit sorry for him as he works hard but he just doesn’t look like a very good footballer. Strange, as I thought he was decent at Everton.

Said this the other week as well, he looks so badly out of place in this side. He’s not a good enough finisher to be playing as our main striker and he’s not sharp enough to player as a wide player. His passing is also pretty poor. Very frustrating player to watch , and like mentioned already on here, he always looks so down in the dumps . Really hope we can move him on and get a better replacement. Sad because I really thought it would work for him here when he signed.

I thought he was an average finisher at Everton but he’s actually far, far worse than that.

He ranks in the second fucking percentile for actual goals as compared to expected goals over the past 365 days.

In other words, it is not an exaggeration to say that he has been among the very worst finishers in all of world football during his time at the club.

He’s been given more than enough chances now and I’d much rather see what the likes of Veliz, Johnson, and Gil have to offer. We should move on from him in January and bring in a young, talented fox-in-the-box type as the long-term successor to Son.

Neither finish today was to do with confidence. Just very poor technique.
We just need to hope Saudi come in and we get some money back for him and move on

I think he would have been a threat in the air with Perisic’s quality but aside from that I don’t think he’s good enough. Probably wouldn’t be starting if we didnt have so many injuries.
