Fair play to him. He’s learned to stop taking his shirt off and getting booked before his goals get ruled offside. Can’t blame him with this weather.

Rather unlucky not to have kept his goal scoring run in tact.
The only positive I could see though was that his finishes seem more confident and he was putting more of those shots in the net - despite being offside lol. Kulu and Sonny were shot shy.

Every team haș injuries. Out of that List Perisic will never play for uș again, Sessegnon is not Missed at all and Whiteman is 3rd choice. So that‘s 5 meaningful injuries and one suspension. No more than many other teams. No excuse for being hammered by Brighton reserves.
I asked

“Did he get injured?” as Richy is at the bottom with a back injury.

Criminal offsides tonight.
Were they? I can't remember which one, but not the Johnson assist one, the through ball should have been played through earlier. Richy made the run and ball was delayed. Onus is on the striker and the passer to time everything.

Yes, they were. He sees the line the entire time, and has no excuse to be offside in either case.

Can only have been an injury that got him subbed. Bewildered otherwise as to why you'd take off the one player on our side who looked like scoring to get us back in the game. Yes we did score twice late on but long after the game was out of reach.

Perisic got a serious knee injury and is out of contract and therefore shouldn't be included in as a meaningful injury?

He was one of our best squad options, one of our best crossers and set piece takers and had already been involved in multiple goals this season before he got injured.

40% of our senior outfield players was unavailable yesterday. That is not normal for a team that doesn't play in Europe and have played one single cup game.

I’m going to be honest here I just really don’t like Richarlison. I found him really annoying when we used to play against him at Everton and whilst he’s matured a bit here there is just something about his energy and behaviour that I’m not a fan of.

His head goes down and he gets frustrated quite easily and as a player he’s too often miss rather than hit.

Don’t get me wrong I’ll continue to fully back him 100% and he has been better the last few games after his surgery comeback but longer term personally I’d love for us to move him on and buy 2 new attacking players in his place which the squad desperately needs.

I really like a good 90% of our squad right now, many of them are really likeable but for some reason I just really find it hard to take to Richy.

Yep and he hit the post too. He is definitely much more confident in front of goal.

For me he is a very limited player , he doesn’t have a turn of pace or a trick to get past a player , in fact if he is outside the box with a defender in front of him I rarely expect anything to happen . Decent in the air , presses fairly well and scores in patches but I wouldn’t be disappointed to see him go if we had something else lined up .
