Richy is also our lucky charm at home, surprisingly, having won 12 games and drawn 1 in 13 starts.

Wrote the above ahead of the Fulham game. Since that post...

Richarlison started:
Fulham - WON
Newcastle - WON

Richarlison did not start:
Chelsea -
LOST
Villa - LOST
West Ham - LOST

Updated record - 15 starts, 14 wins, 1 draw.

After wins against Everton and Bournemouth, Richarlison now has a home record of 17 starts, 16 wins, 1 draw.
Richarlison's home streak is starting to get ridiculous now.

After wins against Burnley and Brentford, Richy now has a home record of 19 starts, 18 wins, 1 draw.

EDIT: Somehow missed the City game...oh well, the unbeaten run remains in the league!

In the last 3 or 4 games, his hold up play has improved dramatically. Still needs work but compared to the ball just bouncing off his body for the last 18 months, this new form has seen such an improvement there.

He also had 2 long distance shots tonight and it sounds stupid, but he rarely shoots from distance and both were close, particularly his first. Signs of ever growing confidence. In fact his goal was his worst shot of the match.

Runs his bollocks off every match too. Not as fast as Son but just as effective because he does cause defenders (and sometimes the keeper) to make mistakes or he blocks the clearances.

Has that ****y streak in him too ,like Romero. Whether that’s good or bad, who knows, but I’d rather have those types in the team than play against them.

Basically, almost everything he’s doing is coming off at the moment and long may that continue. I wasn’t sure he’d make it with us I’m a lot more confident nowadays.

His composure is a lot better. Both those shots he took the time to touch to space and get over it. I think he’s mentally finally settling in. Hopefully he continues this form with this newly found comfort on the pitch.

I’m glad @bomberH and @TheAmerican mentioned his 2 long shots

that’s what I noticed too last night, and they were both decent efforts - with power and to the corners of the goal, just unfortunately too high / wide.

we haven’t seen him take this kind of shots before iirc, most of his shots or goals are in and around six yard box, penalty spot. And this 2 shots have shown he does have a good shot on him. Another string his bow.

really happy to see richy doing well

Came in here to say just that.
That first one must've been a couple of inches away and I cannot wait to see him nail a beauty like that.

Another really good performance from the lad and after his recent troubles, I couldn't be happier for him.

He isn't technically good on the eye but he is starting to fulfil his remit which is to stay central, occupy the centre backs and be in the box and finish moves

There does seem to be a shortage on world class players with that remit which makes having world class wide players even more important as there are so many quality wide players

Wish refs would book players for simulation a lot more. That one where Richarlison nudges the Brentford player at a free kick was embarrassing. They even said var are checking it and then said it wasn't violent conduct. No shit, he threw himself down to try and get Richarlison in trouble.

Yeah, I love a bit of shithousing but some of Brentford's antics last night were just plain embarrassing.

He actually looked quick last night, great to see. Hes really stepped up, his overall play is much better and he actually did a lovely strike at goal that nearly went in.

The difference for me last night was he was stronger in holding off his marker, instead of looking to go down for the free kick at every opportunity. It allows us to keep moving the ball quickly instead of taking a free kick against an organised defence. I was impressed with Richarlison last night.

lol didn't he used to play in the same team as Maupay? I swear they were at Everton together under Fat Frank?
