He's here, he's there, he's every fkin where

Great balance, economical, doesn't try the Hollywood stuff. Defensively capable, can nick it, put a foot in when needed, and impressive stamina- he'll certainly need that if we're going to get anything at City
And I think he still has levels to go up in the English game as well, he hasn’t been here a whole season yet. When you compare Modric in his first season to how good he got once he adjusted more and more to the English game. I think we will see the same kind of thing for this guy as he has so much talent.

Bentancur is a fantastic player. But I think Hojbjerg should get a lot of praise aswell. He's more of a box to box midfielder compared to earlier. And I think he's doing really well. They bring the best out of each other.

So good in possession. Brings a calm in CM similar to what Carrick and Modric used to do. What a signing he has been. Absolute bargain.

He's more consistent than Dembele. Can definitely surpass him if he keeps it up.
Not saying Bentacur can't surpass Dembele but imo a long way to go still and i feel Dembele was very consistent bar injuries. But ot's all about onions?

Dembele is a tricky one. I just remember poor semi finals against Utd and Juve (2nd leg) but that was towards the end of his career so maybe not fair to judge.

I don't think he was as good as he could have been which is why people look back more fondly than they judged at the time. I think Bentancurs work rate is already better so he has the benefit of having the languid stylings but with an intense work rate.

I loved Dembele but my main memory of his career is not quite reaching the levels his talent deserved.

Dembele was amazing at keeping the ball but his passing and shooting were 2nd rate.

I think it was the injuries with Dembele it really was, like King for large parts his injuries hampered him playing game after game at times. His control and strength to turn players was better than Bentancur I think, but Bentancur is superb and has plenty of time on his side and with more Premier League time to grow into an even better player. They are both wonderful footballers.

Much has been said already. But his calmness in the centre of the park, in particular, is a sight to behold, especially when there's a need to slow down play while others regroup. The man is absolutely devoid of any tendency to panic. That is a rare atrribute.

The only player who makes me panic that he's going to lose the ball, but everytime he calmly keeps the ball and makes the opposition look silly, including myself for getting hoodwinked.

I don't know how he does it. A bit of Carrick, Modric and Berbatov all rolled into one

Justs hows you can get quality players for reasonable fees, it's not all about spending loads of money like some people keep going on about.

Thanks. It’s funny that Conte comes out and confirms what some of us have been saying all summer yet still people double down on the digs. Apparently we’re all mind readers? Or maybe we just listen to what he said, we didn’t spend enough this summer (where have we heard that before) and as such it’s going to take a few more windows.

He is pretty clear here. He's pointing out that we only spent money on Bissouma and Richarlison. I don't know how some people will spin this into a positive but they will.

I said over the last few weeks, how can people be so happy with the window when we only spent serious money on two players? Perisic was a free so he didn't drain the resources. Honestly, we simply did nowhere near enough.

That he is explicitly saying that it's better to spend big on quality players, over getting them in early, seems to go directly against what many on here were saying the whole summer. Conte doesn't care when we sign them, he just wants top quality and they cost money. He's pointing out pretty clearly we didn't spend or do enough.

I was clearly taking the piss (out of myself) mate. Well done for missing the joke. Next time I'll be sure to put a wink in there for you.
Tbh I wasn't sure if you were joking or not - hence not really writing anything. It's hard to tell with some people on here! But it's all good, I appreciate your posts despite the banter. ?

All good mate. I purposely left it quite subtle, but I hoped people could see I was joking. ? You’re right it’s hard to tell sometimes.

Can't imagine how he would've thought the guy with an avatar of Levy with clown makeup on was being serious when complaining about spending...

Judging by the replies since, it’s clear that you clearly weren’t clear enough.

I’d stick with the wink.
