Agreed, it’s going to be interesting to see how we balance things in a 3 5 2 next season if we move to that and who misses out for a creative mid. If we bring in a maddison, barella, sms type who won’t be see as the starter?He had an immediate impact January onwards which isn’t easy coming from a foreign country; there was talk of painkilling injections over the last few weeks of the season which make his performances even more impressive.
The only downside to his game was sometimes taking a bit too long on the ball. He obviously had more time (generally) in Italy and was adapting.
But this season he’s moving the ball noticeably quicker and I can’t recall many occasions where he’s been dispossessed.
He’s gone up a level and looks a real quality player. He & Hojbjerg have both improved this season and are 2 of our best, most consistent performers.
When are people going to put respect on his name?
