I really feel he absolutely carried our midfield while he was fit last season. The second it was clear he was badly hurt I knew our season was over. Very arguably our most important player right next to Kane. I actually think we could have coped better without Kane than we did without RodrigoThere were a lot of things that cost us last season, but Bentancur getting injured is very much the part where it died. It shows how much he brings that the drop off was so huge in his absence.
What was the news? I must have missed itExcited to hear the news earlier from Trix regarding Bentancur's return. I absolutely love the man and think he should be our next captain. No idea when he's going to return but it would be amazing to have him back late August/early September.
He just said it looks like Bentancur will be back sooner than expected. What was the news? I must have missed it

Hate to be all doom and gloom regarding Bentancur, but it is likely that he will never return to his previous level. Although it is very positive that he is ahead of schedule and reports are saying that he is doing an amazing job on his rehabilitation, there is a big difference between returning to on-field rehabilitation and RTP.I know fuck all about injuries so am genuinely curious - if he's on the grass and kicking balls why is there still talk of November or later?
Is the nature of ACL injuries such that it can still take ~4 months to be fully ready from that stage? Or is he just well ahead of schedule

To answer your question, it is hard to say without knowing exactly how he is right now, but typically there is a risk/ reward situation where the player could be ready to play at an acceptable level after 7-8 months, but returning to play before 9 months will dramatically increase the risk of re-rupture or another knee injury.
Don't agree with this. I've done both left and right acl so know a little and naturally keep an eye on this injury with pro players.
It all depends. Some players return to the same level (or higher) in only four months. Chloe Kelly is an example. In fact its a lot more common for females to injure their acl and they often return to elite level.
Same with men players its a very common injury that many great players have suffered.
Medical treatment has come on so much in the last 20 years, its not something that ruins your career anymore.
He should be fine.
