Great to have him back, he really stepped up last season and came up with some amazing moments. Then he got injured and we went to shit.

It's impossible to put a time frame on. I'm guessing he just needs to train regularly and determine how he feels. He comes across as a very strong player mentally so I actually think he will be OK there. He just needs to not jump in too soon and build that physical side back. I'm sure they must gauge in training matches how he's doing and determine when he's ready for the match day squad. 2 players with the same injury could have totally different return dates after returning to training. The fact he's back fully suggests the injury is healed so he just needs match fitness to build up and be recovered mentally to trust his body again.

Could he be on the bench Monday?
I doubt it tbh. He’ll still likely be a fair way behind Skipp and PEH fitness wise, even if he is a much more talented player. Hopefully he can be back on the bench for the Chelsea match.

From around 2.15, that's Bentancur with the little tidy interchanges with Maddison isn't it? Even in first watching it I was wondering who it was that looked quite sharp before thinking it was Bentancur.

I know it's extremely little to go on, but it does have me imagining just how good our midfield can be with him in it too.

I forget that he was basically our second best player last season.

Keep in mind though, while it’s great he will be back. It will take two months for him to get back to actual match sharpness.

Ange will probably use him as a sub a lot over the next six weeks. Doubt we will see him start a game until late November.

I'd be surprised if we see him start a game as early as late November. I think realistically late December. Its such a huge injury to return from, even a player with his incredible quality will take a long time to get back to the sharpness and level required to start.

Agreed, and it's as much about building confidence as anything I guess. Even for a guy as motivated and confident as Bentancur. Every minute he's out there, the injury moves further to the back of his mind. 10 minutes here, 20 minutes there and the knee is still fine etc.

Actually at that point in the season prior to his injury, he was our best player.

Devastating to lose him for so long. A player who has everything in his game.

Imagined without the injury, we could have still been playing under Conte because he would have bailed us out too many times.
