So back to Bentancur, I would imagine we take it easy on him until the rest of the season and he can build up his fitness levels between now and pre-season getting him into great shape to start next season

Does anyone else think he has the attributes to be a Carrick or Pirlo type (I think Italians call it regista) ? He's big, strong, not super fast but not a slug either, reads the game well, but most importantly has great touch and can pass the ball really well. I think had he been brought up in the English game that's the role he'd have as our football is so fast paced and has so many athletic players in it, he doesn't strike me as the type an English club would develop as a number 8.

I think he's ready to start tomorrow. He looks like he's getting back to his pre-injury best.

It's interesting that he got a lot of criticism at Juventus when playing DM but to me it looks like he's so suited to kt

When playing Ange's style of football, which presumably Juventus don't, I completely agree with you.

Was brilliant today. I’d like to see him as the #6 alongside Maddison and Sarr. You would expect Bentancur to convert one of the many chances Bissouma had first half.

I think at the time juve conceded a few goals due to him losing possession around the box. Which is where the criticism came from.

There is no question in my mind that he is our best midfielder (by a distance), the only concern has been his fitness.

He and PEH came on and changed the game. He was immense.

It’s so good being able to refresh things with quality when a game isn’t panning out.

Bentancur is getting back to his best. It shouldn't be any surprise to anyone that he has taken a while to get back to his best considering the injuries.
He just runs the games in such a fantastic & silky way.
