It's a shame it's not working out for him. This was his season to try to show the new manager he had something to offer.

If he is to have a football career then he needs to move on this summer.

To where? I doubt anyone is going to sign him to sit in their treatment room.

I think the best case scenario is that he manages to recover from his latest set back and a team takes a chance at signing him on loan in the summer. But even that would difficult to do as clubs have limited loan options and it will be a risk to take one of the spots up with a player who can't keep fit.

I have no idea where he goes.

But he has history of excelling in the Championship and for England under 21s.
I don’t believe interest in him will be zero.

Plus the physical demands in the Championship aren’t as severe as the EPL. There’s several players who have excelled in the Championship but ultimately flop in the EPL. I’m sure they would rather be a Championship player stand out, earning a decent salary and being fit enough to play week in week out as opposed to being in the EPL and spending the majority of their contract in the treatment room. Alternatively they may succeed in top flight football abroad where the style of play is much slower with less risk of suffering substantial muscle injuries.

It's almost impossible to believe he's been here nearly 5 years. I have a lot of sympathy for him, I hope he can turn his career around and finally get over his injury nightmares.

I doubt a Championship team will be able to commit to signing him on his likely high wages. That also goes for teams on the continent.

As I said, the best he can hope for is that he gets the opportunity for a loan move, but even that could be a long shot considering he is struggling to even train regularly at the moment.

This sadly feels like an early retirement scenario to me now.
I came here to echo your sentiment.
If his injury issues continue he really needs to think about taking care of his body and try something less physically demanding.
Sad as I was so happy we signed him.

Felt awful for him when I saw he has come off for the 21s on Saturday injured again.

In the summer Ryan will have been here 5 years. Poss he signed for 5 with a years option, which we often do. Decision to be made. Would hope they could keep him on if recovery is possible.
Anyone know his contract situation.

Unclear, I thought it was 5 with an option some 6.

Imagine he'll just be released at end of season.

From a cold, hard business perspective, I’m not sure why the club would want to keep him on. He’s hardly ever available and even when he has been, he’s not shown much. He’s been ok at times but not enough imo to gamble on him recovering his fitness.

It's awful for him but time to move on, certainly for us. He has his whole life ahead of him, in football or out of it. This must be miserable for him.

Do we know why he had to come off?
Suspected hamstring injury on the other leg that he had just recovered from. He had to leave on crutches according to ally gold,

He has had a number of hamstring injuries and that alone is a tell tale sign he is not suited for anges system.

gotta look after this lad, i could only imagine what he's going through mentally.
don't want him to go through what Dele did, could care less about his footballing tbh
Agree, have been thinking the same lately. He needs to be looked after well from now on especially.

Very tough going for him for a number of years is going to affect him mentally for sure.

We love you Sess but mabye a fresh start is best in a hotter climate and less demanding league.

To be honest I think he lost confidence very early in his Spurs career, never looked comfortable with the ball. I cant believe he will get a professional playing contract after his current one expires, perhaps he will have a career as a youth team coach where he would have good knowledge of what it takes to make the step up to the first team. Good Luck Ryan.
