I'm not sure what position you mean. Son is a predominately right footed LWF, Lamela is a left footed RWF, as was Bale.

The side isn't important, it's the role he plays. He's supposed to be the guy we give the ball to when we want someone to run at the opposition. When you look through our squad, a fair few of them could be considered in the top 5 in their position in the league. Son is nowhere near the likes of Hazard, Sanchez or Mane.

Yes, the side is important. Also lol at him not being as good as those guys. Of course he isn't.

It's not important. We could have a LWF or a RWF that the opposition are scared of running at them with pace and trickery, whereas at the moment the only one we have is bloody useless half the time.

It's an issue with him not being anywhere near those guys because, as I said, a lot of our players are now among the top 5 in their positions in the league. You could argue that all of Lloris, Walker, Toby, Jan, Rose, Wanyama, Dembele, Alli, Eriksen and Kane are. Is Son in the top 5 in his? No chance. Don't think he'd even be in the top 10. We need better if we are to progress.

So you want to cash in on Son and get who?

I'll leave that one to the FM experts. We've been lucky enough to watch plenty of good wingers and wing forwards over the years at Spurs. And while this Spurs team is probably the best I've ever had the pleasure to watch, our current wing forwards and wingers are nowhere near as good as some we've had in the past. It's clearly the area that needs upgrading most in our team.

Well one of those "wing forwards" in our 3 at the back is Eriksen who is certainly as good as we've had in the past. The player on the other side is Alli. They're the first choices.

But those two only play in those positions when we're playing a 3-4-3 with Rose and Walker giving us the pace and width from wing-back. If we're doing a more traditional 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 then we need a proper WF with real pace and neither Eriksen or Alli are that kind of player.

True. But I assume 3-4-3 is going to be our preferred formation meaning the "Son position" will be a backup/bench option in which case i'd argue Son is perfectly adequate. It's certainly not fair to compare him to the likes of Hazard.

Forwards normally command the highest wages and go for a premium which is probanly the reason why we struggle to sign established attacking players.

Rather than readily ship players out and once again disturb the balance of the sauad we need to keep pushing them, Son lacks some consistency and some discipline but he can improve, he is only 24.

the problem with son is he's not "one of our own" it's a shame when he has a 'mediocre' game people rip his head off, but God forbid we touch Kane if he has a rough patch

Agree regarding Kane. He gets a free pass a lot of the time but he is our only choice up front and is still second in the top goalscorers charts. His overall performances have dropped way off and is visible since even last season. Where is the Kane who scores from oitside the box, presses from the front and is a general pain in the arse to the opposition?

Son is frustrating. No two ways about it the guy chooses the wrong option 8 times out of 10. He loses the ball, gors down blind alleys and can pass for shit however he is a busy little **** and works his nuts off in a game which results in things like him gaining the penalty last week.

However he is wasteful. Absolutely wasteful in possession and if he cannot bring an element of intelligence to his game he will always be just a squad player and not a first team starter.

Son has 7 goals, 5 assists + 2 penalties drawn in 1252 League minutes this season.

Thats a goal or an assist every 104 minutes on average. Those are fantastic numbers, and even if I'll also have some issues with parts of his game, he does get us goals consistently, and have been doing so for two seasons.

It's his lack of consistency that's my biggest worry about him. Never know which Son will turn up, the blinding world star, or the useless lad who's no better than you and me. He takes every other match he plays off, and produce all his wonderful stats in half the games he plays. Which Son shows up in the really important matches? Which would show up in the decisive matches of the season? Just never know, do we?

He is a really good squad player for us and has been a great signing tbh. He can be frustrating at times though but he is still young and hopefully will improve some aspects of his game.

Yeah he's a decent option and I would say he's shown more than Kane in the last few games. We would struggle massively to improve on him with our financial restrictions.

I'd hope so, but I have my doubts. His career here seems to be following the same path as it did at Leverkusen. First season there he had his moments but frustrated them a lot and they couldn't figure out whether he should be playing up front, LWF, RWF or AM. The second season he started brilliantly and the common consensus was that he'd become a huge upgrade on Schurrle who he'd been brought in to replace. But by the end of the year, the consistency issues came up and his decision making didn't seem to be getting any better. I remember reading the views of their fans the day we signed him and whilst they all seemed appreciative of his time there and wished him good luck with the move, they all seemd relatively happy to cash in.

This. I love Son on his good days. Even last week against Boro he was the best player on the pitch. But when he's bad, my god he's REALLY bad, and we quite simply have no idea which one is going to turn up.

We spent £30m on Moussa Sissoko. I refuse to believe there aren't options out there within our budget.

Can't believe all the Son hate, the guy contributes regularly and even when he doesn't have a great game he looks for the ball and doesn't hide. The knee jerking this week is embarrassing. Get a grip guys we've lost three league games all season and are still second in the league.
