Not being bad on Korea but we could do with them going out and Son getting a nice rest.

I think he needs it.

0 dribbles, 0 shots on targets. He just hasn't looked threatening at all.
Not sure the dribbling stat is true. I watch him beat a man to make half a yard and a good block stopped the shot. Last game I watched him brilliantly beat 2 players then his cross waa cleared.

He’s clearly lacking confidence

It's not just that. Korea also seem to have a 'Kane' problem i.e. the fuckwits surrounding him won't provide service to him because they want to be heroes. Think of Korean versions of Sterling and Mount.

He was always being surrounded by a few players whenever got running. He looked starved of opportunities and needed to be more central. He worked hard for the team but also looked exhausted at times (both hands on his knees a few times). It's frustrating for him as it is for Kane, neither have been getting great service in this tournament. Its clear that opposition teams are doubling up on them well.

I think there's a big mental aspect too though. It's been a big year for Son. He wins the golden boot which brings huge expectations, we had a tour in his home nation where he's surrounded everywhere like a rockstar, we lost our marine and no doubt a player like Son is deeply affected emotionally by that, then he gets a facial injury going into the world cup, now it looks like he's going out of the world cup. Hopefully he can get a couple weeks to rest and refocus for the rest of the season.

Great run but also great composure to hold up the challenge and then the perfect weight on the through ball. Hope that takes them through now.

Quite a few that would have been happy for Son to miss the World Cup with his face injury for the benefit of Spurs.

You know what will benefit Spurs? Having a re-energised Son from contributing to South Korea’s biggest achievement since he started in the national team, with all that burden on his shoulders.

If South Korea goes out as expected against Brazil he will still get three weeks off until the Brentford game.

Hopefully Son's form picks up when he's back with the World cup out of the way and becoming an even bigger national hero than he already was, feeling good about what they achieved (presumably going out next round but never know).

If he could nick a goal against brazil even better.

Agree, all about duty and I think it’s now fulfilled; anything beyond is a bonus and I hope he can have that gigantic monkey off his back now.
