I'd like to know what injury he is managing.

He had his long-term groin I think it was issue sorted this summer, is it just fatigue and a few tight parts here or there since he got back from the last IB so we are just managing him and Maddison to not overload them or is it something a bit more serious which could get worse.

As you say strange to post this if he is actually carrying an injury.

Should surely have sorted this in the summer. Thankfully we have no Europe so he may able to recover. He should be rested over IB though. Go along and be part of the squad but only do light training and sit on the bench.

It would be nice to have him not go with their squad and just rest here for two weeks lol could say that for a few of our XI.

Unless it's related I doubt they had time given he had surgery on his sports hernia over the summer and recovery from that took up the rest of it.

Oh man, I hope he's not going down the route of King who couldn't train all week but still play fantastically. Because in a long run it won't do him good and his fitness as a result of less training couldn't last a full match.

The issue couldn't be too bad otherwise he couldn't play through it.

The risk is we make it worse.

Another 60/70 minutes against Luton and haul him off regardless of the score.

Rest over IB seems imperative though.

Totally different situations. King had no knee cartilage which meant he had to be saved for games, training would’ve made him unavailable for matches.

Son is playing with discomfort and full training would be dangerous. hopefully it is something that doesn’t get worse or, heaven forbid, require an operation but it’s still nothing like Ledley.

It could be a hangover from the injury and operation he had in the summer as all those muscles will be connected.

Hopefully he doesn’t go on international duty but in he plays against Luton then I suspect he will.

If we want him to sit out the international break we probably have to show that we care about his health and fitness as well

We need to be firm when it comes to our players and the international break. Too often we have players on their way back from injury get called up. Fergie used to drag his players out of internationals all the time.

why is it always referred to as Fergie used to do it, obviously we know he did but you don’t need to look any further than current managers in klopp and pep for examples of them pulling players all the time.

Anyone else thinking that maybe he’s just getting to the end of his career? Seems to be getting injured a lot, and always seems to be in some sort of discomfort after games. Maybe this his last season at the very top level?

don’t get me wrong we all absolutely love him, and he always gives 110% but it could be that time. He will be 32 next year.
