It’s a shame cause I really like the guy, but for one reason or another it just hasn’t worked out for him here. I hope he gets a move back home where he’s happier and he tears it up.

No-one turns a blind eye to him he just isn’t anywhere near as good as Son Kane or Kulu. He also doesn’t offer anything different enough to merit being the first change either

I wonder if we’ll insert a decent sell-on fee if we only receive £20m from Ajax. Could protect us if he blows up and gets interest from big clubs again in the next couple of years.

I could see us potentially having to go down that route with a few players

I like him and have always supported him but his comments there are a bit strange. When he had a run in the side he was getting into great positions but most of the time couldn’t finish. If he was overlooked it was because he never really took his chances and had strong competition. Good luck to him though, I’m sure he’ll come good at Ajax.

It's close to a fair price right now.

If you want to slap an eg 30m valuation on him, how many clubs actually have that money to spend and would reasonably be interested?

25m Euros feels like the right fee to me.

wanted to keep him but since hes come out pubically saying he wants to leave which is gonna hurt his selling price now good riddance..
Wow. "Good riddance"?! Without his late goals we wouldn't have CL next season. He's been a pro and we all should wish him the best of luck.

He had his chances and he didn't take them. Look at Kulu as an example, he came in and took his chance. That is what you need to do if you are at a top club.

And his comments about being ignored and turning a blind eye to him at Spurs, what did he expect? Does he really think he deserves to play in front of Son or Kulu?

He's a decent player but I'm not convinced he has enough end product to enable him to be a regular starter at a top club. Over 60 appearances and 7 goals says it all and 2 of those came in 2 minutes at Leicester. So that's 5 goals spread around the other 59 appearances.

It's a shame as I thought there was a player there, but if you don't score there isn' t much hope for you.

On the flip side if he’d taken his chances consistently we might have finished third and made CL without as much drama. We’ll never know.

Well, anything could have happened. Fortunately, we don't need to speculate on that, because what did happen is he scored vital goals and we qualified.

I agree he didn't work out overall, and a lot of that's down to him. My reply was about the needless "good riddance".

Spot on, he is a decent player but not a world beater and never will be. I’m sure he will go on to have a good career.

Saying his goals that day got us top four is as much speculation as anything else because we may have still won the match or even finished higher. I agree that there’s no need for any bad feelings toward him though and I’m definitely being pedantic so I won’t go on any more :censored:

Man deserves to start somewhere; it's just not gonna be here. No bad will here at all, hope he does well.

He's wanted to leave for well over a year. Despite this he's trained hard and professionally, always giving everything when he's been required to.

It's not "good riddance" it's thank you and good luck wherever you end up.

I'll be sad to see him go and will always hold him in high regard. Uber professional and always put a shift in. Hope he succeeds wherever he goes.

Always liked him as a player, can’t really blame him for wanting to go. There was a few times I thought we could have been doing with him on the park and never acted on it. Brilliant off the bench against Leicester and scored a few goals with the Dutch but didn’t seem to get a look in for some reason. I wish him well wherever he ends up, playing weekly will bring him on. All the best stevie b
