even if he is out on loan it opens up a spot for our squad and if this is his last year then we are rid of him

works for me

Apparently we want 15m euros for him.
When I think of all the things you could buy with €15m it boggles the mind why anyone would spend it on a football player who can’t be bothered to play football. I’d happily see him go on a free transfer if it would get off the books but I wouldn’t be surprised if he just wants to see out his contract and collect his ridiculous wages before retiring early. Biggest scouting failure ever and to think so many of us (and jealous opposition fans) thought he was going to be the best midfielder since Zidane! Lesson learned.

edit- not really Rennais if you’re reading this. Just a bit of English humour, he’s the bollocks and a real team player.

Really hope he is off back to France.

Can't remember wanting a player out so much. I think a large part of it is due to his transfer fee and high expectations, but thinking back to him walking off the pitch against Morecambe and now issues with timekeeping. The guy is being paid £200k a week. There are serious issues with his professionalism.

We really don’t know if it’s the case that he ‘can’t be bothered to play football’. After all the stuff that came out about Dele recently I would suggest it’s not wise to make assumptions about things we don’t know anything about.

I suspect we will have to pay most of his wages but if we got a fee for him it may well be worth it just to see the back of him. I suspect the club will be as creative as possible to move on. He seems willing to always go out on loan somewhere so hope it’s the same this window.

I take it from your disagree, Maxtremist, that you think we will get a fee for him then that will do more than cover the wages we will still have to meet . Will be great news if you are right.

I still can't believe he hasn't even had a sniff at the Saudi league in the media

If ever a player was perfect for that league...

Even they won't pay a fee for him. Could be the first ' loan ' to Saudi perhaps? That might work.....
Honestly he fits so well

Mega talented famous player with a high profile who entertains fans available for a low fee but would want high wages. Unless he has been offered something and said no which I could well imagine

Is he really that ' famous ' though? Apart from being a massive disaster with us

I think so.

Massive Lyon talent, Tottenham's record signing and just won seria A albeit not a regular starter

Certainly big enough to attract Saudi interest.
Hmm, not convinced. He had one good season with Lyon . He's not really the category of player they are targeting. Still, hope you are right obviously.

Apart from that he isn’t Muslim nor free agent nor Gestifute client nor South American or Afican which makes 99% of signings at the Saudi league

I don't know about the agency but I've seen plenty of other nationalities go there so it's not unreasonable to think they would like a playmaker like him.

Who the fuck sanctioned this buy!!!

Surely some background checks, proper due diligence would have had alarm bells ringing
I mentioned the 'due diligence' concern a couple of days ago, and someone replied that the club's recruitment people did the due diligence and were aware of the problems, but Poch thought he could straighten out the problems. Personally, I would have avoided him like a plague, regardless of the talent. If the coach has to spend time and effort on straightening out such problems, he's not spending that time on coaching.
