Well, I've finally watched a highlights video and this guy looks fucking incredible. Quick, big, strong, has GOOD feet and skill, and can pick a great through ball. Very exciting. Looks like exactly what we need in midfield.

He does indeed. The thing that impresses me most, other than the strength, athleticism, speed and dribbling ability, is his passing.

Not necessarily Modric, Huddlestone or even Hoddle style spraying it around the pitch passing, but the speed of delivery and appreciation of runners with balls played not just to the man ( or behind them ), but perfectly weighted into space. In short, he doesn’t fuck around with the ball, everything seems to have a purpose.

Unlike Dembele or Sissoko ( in a far more agricultural way), Ndombele seems to be able to transition the play both by dribbling and by passing. A massive attribute that we sorely lack.

From the little I’ve seen and read he seems to have all the ingredients for a complete midfielder. Except one thing : goals.

Now I would say that an ability to find the net is possibly one of the more difficult aspects to coach ( I’m in the camp of some players just naturally having that ability).

However, he’s only 22 and I would hope that he could add that to his game, even if he doesn’t become a free scoring midfielder.

I believe Poch said that he wished he’d been able to coach Dembele from an early age, so maybe he can work his magic there.
