I really don't like how much this is dragging on.

I know these things take a while but after our shambolic last couple of windows I just want us to get this across the line. The lack of ITK is worrying.

I think it is purely a case of waiting for Lyon to get the replacement in then we will see / hear a lot more.... the replacement is due to have a medical on Monday according to some reports

I'm sure you're right, I just want lots of ITK noise about it to calm me down a bit

I think the update from Herc yesterday was in depth with the current status of a lot of things one of them being the potential conclusion of Ndombele!

This is the signing I really want.

But then I remember that I was amazingly excited about Capoue after watching his videos.

I'd love it to be concluded quickly, but I don't think this is overly dragging by our standards. I think we still have many Spurs Transfer Saga phases to pass through yet before this one is done.

I think it’s easy to forget what the pattern of ITK to fully signing a player is actually like, as it hasn’t happened in a while.

Tbh, this doesn’t feel protracted at all, nor has the ITK been absolutely overwhelming for it definitely happening by historical standards. We’ve had far more ITK on players in the past where a signing hasn’t materialised.

To that end, I’m quietly confidant but not allowing any excitement to creep in yet because I don’t even think the ITK with big green flashing welcome lights has landed yet.

I hope we get this guy but think people may be expecting a bit much from him. There was more hype about Naby Keita, who looks a similar style of player and playing in an arguably stronger league, and he hasn’t exactly set the world alight.
If we do get him he is likely going to need time to settle and adapt.

If the ITK is correct, we've asked Lyon what they want for Ndombele twice, then agreed the fee only for them to come back with a higher price. Sounds like Aulas is living up to his reputation. We could offer more but it would probably get the same response and whilst nobody else seems to be actively involved I don't really see what else Levy is expected to do if Aulas keeps moving the goalposts and probably enjoying doing it to Levy.

ITK being relatively quiet is a good thing, I believe; we're in the eye of the transfer storm, people.

Im sorry but we have heard this excuse far too many times & it has cost us in previous windows, Levy knows all about playing hardball and can handle his own, he needs to make sure he pays the necessary price or risk losing out all together & therefore consequences will follow.

You can't change the nature of the fans. We always expect miracles from every new transfer :)

Interesting piece, and confirms Dan and Ali are hearing similar things from the club. It's pretty rare and I think it's a good sign.
