Shame we aren’t in the stadium to get behind Tanguy and let him know he’s fast becoming a fan favourite.

I was watching his off ball movement pretty closely yesterday and he’s come on leaps and bounds just in the last couple games. He was still dead on his feet after around the 70 minute mark and started to get lazy with his movement as a consequence but hopefully if we can keep giving him 90 minutes every week that last bit of conditioning will come. As well as the off the ball work that Jose will demand, he just looks more up for the fight as he gets fitter and more confident, really starting to use his body to shield the ball and either draw a foul or bounce off the opposition and get the ball forward to a team mate. Those little Dembele-like turns. Lets hope he stays injury free for a while and builds up a run of confidence. Him and Gio eventually in the same midfield and Reg in for Davies is gonna freshen up our play big time. Not quite sure how it’ll work out defensively though!

He was really really good last night. You also have to keep in mind that his style of play that attracts a lot of rough handling from the opponents. That tires you out as well. He is never afraid of taking someone on and uses his body to protect the ball. The Chelsea players were hanging on his back like a backpack. Probably rested on Thursday and ready to go against Man U.

His shielding of the ball is brilliant and his passing is great- so direct, quick and with pace. I don’t think he ever underhit a pass.

Don’t want to get carried away but I really think he could become great for us.

He started on the left of the three but halfway through the first half Jose moved him to the centre. We looked a lot better for it and even in the second half after he had moved to one of the wider CM spots, he still saw a lot of the ball as our fullbacks really pinned their guys back.

What I liked most of all was that he kept making himself available and asking for the ball - even when under pressure. Chelsea are no mugs, close aggressively and always make physical contact, and that was something Tanguy didn't seem happy with last season. Now he just seems to get on with it and doesn't show any signs of being intimidated. Fitness and confidence definitely improving, so well done him and well done Jose.

He reminds me of how the great big men in basketball will use their body to feel the defender's pressure and spin around them, or absorb a double or triple-team and find the open man. That he can do that with his feet is astounding.

Lo Celso was rested yesterday and I think he starts tomorrow and Sunday. Ndombele will be rested tomorrow I think as 2 days is too quick for him at this time. So I do think there is a chance he starts Sunday too having rested tomorrow. With Son out though I would not be surprised if Lo Celso plays wide for that one with Hojberg , Winks behind Ndombele. I can't see Jose playing only one of Hojbjerg and Winks away to Utd so think we'll wait a bit longer to see Lo Celso and Ndombele in central midfield together.
