I don't care to speculate or excuse make, but it is not impossible that there is a private family matter of the kind you don't make public comment on

Not impossible, but no real reason not to say if it is. You don’t have to be specific.

He seems to be turning up in enough training pics and was in open training session.

Slightly odd that a private matter would let him train but not let him play.

I just think he’s given up. He was really poor in the open training session, looked like he was putting in very little effort.
Shame as he’s a great talent ?

Clearly turned up for pre season out of shape, that they’ve been back training three weeks now and he still hasn’t featured is pretty shameful. He’s meant to be a professional athlete. What an absolute waste of money this guy has been. 50 million in fees and 200k a week in wages, and for what? Think how much better we could have spent this cash.

I'd imagine they are heavily incentive and bonus based.

He joined at a really bad time, Poch era ended, Jose essentially publicly bullied him. He had to adapt to a new country and language during a pandemic leading to his only two friends really being Sissoko and Aurier who are now likely off. He will be feeling isolated. He’s barely played in front of our fans.

If he stays one more season he will kick on like Son did. If he doesn’t I think it will come back to bite us.

I’m a big fan of Tanguy but I think it might be prudent to sacrifice either him, Lo Celso or Dele for another defensive midfielder to rotate with Hjøjberg and Skipp.

The midfield just feels a bit unbalanced and a Brozovic or Zakaria would address that

It appears Tanguy is the one that is not proving himself in training so perhaps most likely to be included in a deal

The problem is that would leave us short of creativity. I agree we could do with another holding midfielder if, God willing, Winks and Sissoko leave. If Tanguy goes he needs to be replaced with someone who can unlock the opposition.

I dont see any team buying him this year, and no way we should loan one of the few creative players we have. Try to save his career here, worst case scenario we will be in the same situation next year., but right now i cant see a club in Europe with the money this transfer would require

it feels like Nuno wants players to be part of a whole and they need to work for the team. He is creative but we would still have Kane, LoCelso and Dele who can create centrally.

Dele has never played well as a CM, he makes all of his contributions in and around the box playing off the striker. Kane may well go. Lo Celso has been among the most injury-prone players in the squad over the past two seasons.

We need a central midfield capable of opening up parked busses, if Tanguy goes he must be replaced with someone with that skill set. We’d be taking a massive gamble on Lo Celso’s fitness otherwise.

Although he is obv a talent, i just don't think he has the attrributes to play in the Prem. The fact Nuno is making it clear he isnt injured suggests to me we are open to offers for him, as he hasnt featured at all in any games.

It’s not a criticism of the other players in the squad to say that our CM options would be insufficiently creative if we sold Tanguy and replaced him with a DM. Our squad has been built such that Ndombele and Lo Celso are the two main midfield creators, if one of them were to go we’d need a like-for-like replacement. That’s not somehow an indictment of the other players in the squad.

this is now the 3rd THFC manager to say similar about Tangay’s fitness. The guy is supposed to be a pro footballer. Isnt it the most basic thing to be able to play football for 90 mins! Aaarg so frustrating as there is a major player in there
This. Surely he's the issue now. Don't blame Poch, don't blame Mourinho.

So weird, he’s our record signing ffs! I wonder who scouted him?
There would have been concerns regarding his character. They've already been highlighted in several news items. I guess every signingbis a gamble and he was certainly a Poch signing. But yeah, he's really let this club down imo.

Slightly concerning that this was originally highlighted when we signed him. Fitness always an issue and lacks motivation. Coming to fruition now.
