So looks like he will be picking up his wages for doing very little , reminiscent of Özil

Nah. I'm sure Nuno will have a word and get him committed for the season, and we'll see where we are next summer. Facts are that he will have to play at some point as Skipp/PEH/Dele aren't going to be available for every match. And below them the other options are Lo Celso/Ndombele/Winks. We are already seeing that the current midfield 3 aren't creative enough. Nuno will be forced to tinker at some point when the 1-0 victories start turning to draws or losses, and that is when Tanguy will need to take his chance.

did you watch him last season? the attitude towards him is just ridiculous, he will contribute and be a serious asset for us once Nuno reintegrates him into the squad. obviously understandable to be pissed at him for not wanting to be here, but the idea that he's a passenger on the pitch is ridiculous

With Nuno playing 3 in the middle, I cannot help but think we now have the perfect set-up to accommodate him (if he is willing to put the effort in).
I don't see how - unless Ndombele really commits to the defensive work required of any of those positions.

We don't have room for any passengers in CM spots.

At least wehave a coach who will actually coach him and won't play mind games with him.

He'll know exactly where he stands

I am actually hopeful that Bryan forces his way in to the XI on the right-wing spot. He then becomes the creator, and tucks in behind Kane, giving Emerson and Hojbjerg room on the right flank.

It was more about the coming season if he gets to end up like Ozil, I want him to succeed but still not convinced. Where does he play in midfield , in PEH or Skippy's position, or Dele's , wherever he plays he needs up his workrate .

With the WC coming up you'd hope he'd be busting a gut to get in the France squad
Yeah I think our one hope with him is that this window proves to be a wakeup call. Unless he really pulls his finger out there's zero chance he gets his big move to PSG/Madrid, he's not getting anywhere near the France squad, and he's facing an entire season playing in the reserves.

I'm not holding out much hope, but this could be a real crossroads for him and he's in serious danger of wasting his career (albeit in an incredibly lucrative manner) if he doesn't change his attitude.

Obviously I don't know the guy personally but I just get the impression he doesn't even care about making the French squad, just a "couldn't be arsed" type of player. Hopefully i'm wrong and Nuno can get a tune of of him.

I am hoping once the window closes and Ndombele is still around (-) Sissoko and Aurier, he'll quickly realise what time it is buckle down concentrate on being a dad and footballer.

He has serious talent football is a piece of cake but he needs to work hard.

There were whisper Son wanting to leave early on in his Tottenham career.

That's true about Sonny but he has always looked fit and full of running unlike Tanguy.

I have faith in Nuno getting him to see that performing for us and getting a move are intrinsically linked.

Showing his professionalism, fitness and performing on the pitch will make clubs so much more interested in him.

OK, so now TN stays. If he is not a starter, can he be an Impact Sub. Maybe come in at 75 min mark, if Spurs are trailing. Sounds like he is will to put in effort on the Attack, but is lazy and jogs back on defence.

I think that's unfair as I saw him retrieving defensive situations numerous times last season. His defensive work isn't so much of an issue for me, even though he needs to improve it. It's his positioning and his desire to be on the ball at all times.

He can have a good 20 minute period where he is involved a lot then suddenly just drops off and isn't making the effort to get into space or get close to teammates.

When he disappears, we lose shape in defence and attack. Because he isn't willing to cover spaces or support as much.

He hates not having the ball, so maybe being in a Jose team was a disaster for him.
But then again, he doesn't have the mental capacity to show for the ball time after time.

Personally I’m looking forward to coming back to this thread at the start of the January window to see how/if things have changed. My prediction is this thread will be a very different place.

Let’s hope so, but Nuno doesn’t seem like he has the patience to carry shirkers.

Super talented, but ultimately lazy player who needs a rocket up his arse.

What a waste!
