Haha yes, but there is something to be said also for whether or not he feels "at home" with the club and friendly with the people around him. I can't imagine being very happy in a job where all my colleagues hang out together whereas none of them can even communicate with me because of the language barrier. Then again I'm not earning 200k p/w.

I would happily hate my job and all my colleagues for that money every week. I'd even do it for half as much.

It's worrying because I just get a strong impression that he doesn't have the attitude necessary to convince Nuno that he should be playing any part in his side, at least not over some of the others who will work their ass off and want to be at the club. Kane acted like a bit of a dick and most likely still wants to leave next summer but we at least know we can rely on him to perform in the necessary manner on the pitch and give it his all and I just don't think that's the case with Ndombele.

The best thing would be for something to change in that he'd then see his future here but for as long as that's not the case I'm really not sure he can apply himself in the right way. We'll see though, it's not like I'm around the guy or in training sessions but I can just imagine that being the case.

I have to assume the reason he has not played any part in the season (and pre) so far is because wanted to leave and thus would not be selected. None of the players that wanted out played any part either (Kane did after he couldn't move).

From the pictures in training he certainly looks to be in be shape. It's now in all parties interest for him to start making a contribution to the team.

If he doesn't then any club worth their salt would have to be insane to sign him next summer. By then it will have been three years since he (apparently) performed at a high level consistently, and that time has passed without him developing, without performing, and having demonstrated that he doesn't have the desire to fight for it.

We're still going by his reputation when we talk of this huge talent that he has because we've seen very little actual evidence of it.

That is true and hopefully that is strictly the case. The squad for the Palace game will make interesting reading.

Ridiculous, Kane might have wanted to move but Tanguy doesn’t even have 1% of the effort Kane puts into bettering himself as a player. Whatever Harry Kane’s actions he has pushed himself to take the talent he has as far as possible. Tanguy shows none of the same mentality. So many excuses now blaming the coaching staff. The only people to blame at Spurs are whoever was in charge of evaluation when we were looking to sign him as they have got it spectacularly wrong with our most expensive signing of all time.

Kane and Ndombele are at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes pushing yourself as a player to be the best you can be.
When I said the coaching staff has a ‘small role to play’, was that absolving Tanguy? And I’m really not following your logic about Kane. I was comparing their recent situations. Kane is a model pro. But this summer he was not. But that was forgiven. Fine. He will buckle down. I hope they give Tanguy the same chance. And that’ll be on him to prove himself and get with the program.

The problem is as like last season Nuno is going to come under pressure from Levy to integrate and play Tanguy because of the cost financially not to.

He has been given chance after chance by the staff. They aren't going to not coach him.

Whether he sinks or swims is down to one person and one person only.

I’m wondering if the new mental health team being brought in won’t have a fairly large part to play here. It feels like there’s a lot more than football going on in the background.

Yeah I believe so, he seems to be training and attends all the games. Which Kane didn’t.

Yes but one has proven he can the other not even close, not even remotely close. Instead of recent events why not compare what they have done for the club otherwise it’s selective to suit your point. Kane has earned some credit (in my book anyway) Tanguy has earned nothing and contributed very little. As I say there is a long list of excuses for a player who can’t be bothered to try, doesn’t want to be here and has done very very little for this club and is the record signing. Spurs will be very lucky to find a way out of this utter disaster signing, without loosing a s*** load of money, which is inevitable at this point. I personally think it highly unlikely he is going to be picked very much, talent yes, no application so talent won’t get you anywhere and I don’t think the manager will pick him ahead of a bunch of other players. The writing is on the wall.

Chance after chance? Nuno has only just joined and Tanguy said he wanted to leave and (rightly) was not made available for selection. So Im unclear what "chance after chance" the staff have given him?

Or were you referring to Jose?

Will be interesting as others have said to see if now that his 2 mates have left he will knuckle down or sulk. It seemed at first that they helped him integrate into the club/team/country etc but maybe they were a bad influence especially as both have been sidelined from the first team mostly... I genuinely hope he turns it around as he has a huge amount of natural ability and offers us something none of our other midfield options can imo.
Nuno seems to have got quite a few players motivated and playing well in a short space of time so fingers crossed he can work some magic on Tanguy too

Time now to put him in the squad for ECL and to play him from the bench in the PL. Now we have full stadia he won’t be able to perform at less than 100% for the whole time he’s on the pitch without the crowd getting on him. We’re the best supporters for getting behind our players when they’re putting maximum effort in but not shy of letting them know when we’re not happy! Great footballers thrive on the adulation of the fans. Hoddle and Berbatov, for instance, were not the most dynamic of runners but we certainly got behind them because we appreciated what they did for the team. Talent makes up for a lot .

I like your thinking I really do. Trouble is Nuno (much like Poch) expects 100% in training day in day out, you don’t get your chance if someone behind you is showing more determination and passion. He can’t laze about during the week and then get picked.

I really hope he bucks up his ideas, he is one hell of a special player, still remember him tearingMan City a new one in the champs league the season before we got him, absolutely bossed city. We’ve seen glimpses of him, I hope Nuno/Paratici and the other coaching staff can turn him around.
