Really good performance today. He’s needed to step up like this for some time. Let’s hope he can put a run of form together.

I thought Nuno might have become frustrated with him and stuck him on the bench.

Was great today, and that's the performance we need to see or better from him.

Was class today and may be the solution to our creative midfielder problem.

To get the best out of him in the Premier League he has to play as the number 10 – he just doesn't have the defensive ability and work rate to be a centre mid.

I've said before I believe that Tanguy issues seem mostly mental to me and I think having a manager trust him and give him a run of games even if he has a bad one not instantly dropping him, I think he'll grow in confidence and as we've seen already the work rate has improved. The only difficulty I see is the fact that we have Gio in the same predicament but it's difficult to see how you keep both happy but it's a long season, I'm sure injuries will create opportunities for those on the fringes.

You always get a buzz when he's on the ball - you never know what he's going to do. Often he will trade the most pedestrian of passes and you think what's the point, and then he will score a goal like today. I think he needs to be renamed Ndombaby - the slightest of impacts has him rolling on the ground as if he has been shot.

Great for first 65 minutes, good for last 25 minutes. Think Nuno is going to get him fit on the pitch.

Well he played as a number 10 today... and he offers plenty enough protection for a 10.

I just don't prefer him shielding the defense.

I don't really understand why Gio isn't trusted in that 2 with Ndombele in the 10. On the few moments that we've tried them in a 3, we always seem to do it the wrong way round.

?

todays stats show otherwise

He did track back today, but often caught out when we didn't have the ball.

It's great to see him putting in more effort, and playing a bit further forward/more of a free role means we still have bodies back when he chases back.

Excellent today off the back of a performance against Villa where he put in great effort but nothing came off for him. Clearly headed in the right direction. Here’s hoping he keeps it up.

His running and the pressing was actually the standout out of all the forward players. I loved the effort and he showed frustration with himself during the few moments he wasn’t amazing. He cared out there. Plus the obvious quality with the ball. Fantastic performance.
